The role

At De Vries Scheepsbouw Makkum, the jewel of the Frisian economy, we build exceptional Feadships: world-class yachts, fully custom-made and finished to perfection. From our modern shipyard on the IJsselmeer, we proudly work on projects up to 120 meters. Every detail counts, and everyone's craftsmanship contributes to the final result. Together, we realize yachts that garner admiration worldwide. That is your contribution to the construction of a Feadship.

What you'll do

For the Yard Engineering department, we are looking for an Interior Engineer. Within this role, you will work on the technical development of high-quality interior projects within luxury yacht building. Depending on your experience, you will fulfill a role as a Detail Engineer or Senior Engineer.

As an Interior Engineer, you will work on the technical development of custom interiors for our superyachts. You translate designs into smart, manufacturable, and efficient production solutions. In doing so, you work closely with production, work preparation, suppliers, and subcontractors.

Within the team, you play an important role in further developing our engineering standards. You work with parametric CAD models, manage and optimize the CAD library, and contribute to the further digitalization of our way of working. Additionally, you work intensively with colleagues from other Feadship locations to exchange knowledge and further improve processes.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Developing interior designs into detail and production drawings;
  • Managing, maintaining, and further developing the CAD library;
  • Monitoring the technical quality, manufacturability, and efficiency of designs;
  • Coordinating technical issues with production, suppliers, and subcontractors;
  • Identifying and implementing improvements within engineering processes;
  • Contributing to developments in the fields of automation, parametric design, and AI.

For engineers with more experience, the position also offers room to fulfill a technical coordinating role. You monitor technical information flows, support colleagues with complex issues, and actively contribute to standardization and knowledge sharing within the organization.

Our offer

What makes this position unique? Just a few meters from your workplace, you see your designs become reality. You contribute to the realization of the most exclusive superyachts in the world and directly experience the impact of your work.

  • A salary between € 3,200 and € 4,500 gross per month, depending on knowledge and experience;

  • Ample opportunities for education, training, and personal development;
  • Net travel allowance of € 0.25 per kilometer;
  • A dedicated team, an active staff association, and an informal working atmosphere;
  • Plenty of variety, freedom, and responsibility in your work.

Every Feadship is unique. Your contribution makes the difference. That brings responsibility, but above all, something you can be proud of every single day.
