Senior Cloud Engineer

• In-depth engineering experience with cloud services, architecture, and automation
• Experience with Site Reliability Engineering and the mindset to improve technical platforms and engineering communities
• Experience running mission-critical applications and middleware
• Strong automation skills and a proven track record in cloud automation and tooling
• Experience with CI/CD concepts and practical experience with GitLab pipelines
• Demonstrable experience with monitoring, observability, and operational best practices, such as ELK, Prometheus, Datadog, or similar solutions
• Proven ability to implement and scale AWS or Azure Landing Zone solutions or similar multi-account cloud environments
• Strong collaboration and communication skills with development, operations, and architecture teams
• A proactive, self-starting attitude toward solving problems and driving continuous improvement
• Excellent command of Dutch and English, both spoken and written

• Experience with PAX (Performance and Energy Aware Kubernetes Scheduler)
• Experience with EU cloud providers

As a Senior Cloud Engineer, you are co-responsible for the development, implementation, and optimization of cloud environments that align with infrastructure and operational needs. You will apply your broad T-shaped skillset in the areas of Cloud, Python, CI/CD, and GitLab to drive technical innovation and operational excellence. Your expertise plays a key role in rolling out and improving AWS Landing Zone solutions, enabling secure, scalable, and efficient cloud adoption.

Responsibilities may vary depending on the project and the focus of the team, but may include:

• Designing, building, and optimizing cloud infrastructure for various cloud workloads and migration projects
• Creating, supporting, and expanding developer-enablement platforms (e.g., Python) with best practices and innovative tools and solutions
• Designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines with GitLab and modern DevOps practices to enable faster and more frequent deployments
• Collaborating on the continuous development and implementation of the cloud Landing Zone
• Improving platform stability and reducing MTTR for diverse solutions
• Driving observability solutions and operational excellence with modern monitoring and alerting tools within various cloud and container environments.
• Setting up governance and security best practices for multi-account and multi-user cloud environments
• Guiding teams and providing an engineering perspective on challenges surrounding cloud automation, scalability, and reliability
