The role

Lead the construction of 531 student residences in Nijmegen. As a Construction Manager at Dura Vermeer Bouw en Vastgoed Utrecht, you will manage an extensive urban new-build project, located directly next to Nijmegen-Lent station. A unique opportunity to help build a future-proof living environment and an organization that is growing rapidly in residential construction, non-residential construction, and real estate development.

This will be your job

As a Construction Manager at Dura Vermeer Bouw en Vastgoed Utrecht, you will work on projects that make a visible impact on the living environment of tomorrow. A fine example of this is the realization of 531 student units at Spoorstraat in Nijmegen, directly next to Nijmegen-Lent station. An extensive urban new-build development consisting of three buildings with 300 independent studios, a residential tower with 77 group dwellings, communal facilities, and green outdoor spaces. A project where technology, logistics, safety, sustainability, and collaboration come together, and where students will soon be able to live, study, and meet comfortably.

Since the beginning of this year, we have grown from a renovation specialist into a broad Construction and Real Estate organization. Alongside our trusted renovation and transformation projects, we are actively building residential, non-residential, and development projects. This means a varied portfolio with challenging projects in Central Netherlands and plenty of opportunities for experienced site managers who want to contribute to our growth.

What makes this position extra interesting is the phase in which our organization is currently in. You will not only work on attractive projects such as the student housing in Nijmegen, but also on residential, non-residential, renovation, and transformation projects that will shape the face of Central Netherlands in the coming years. Here, you are not just building beautiful projects, but also the future of Dura Vermeer Bouw en Vastgoed Utrecht.

What you'll do

As a Construction Manager, you hold ultimate responsibility for the daily management of one or more projects. You monitor planning, quality, safety, and progress, and ensure that all parties involved work together as one team. In doing so, you are visibly present on the construction site and know exactly what is happening with your colleagues, subcontractors, and construction partners.

You create a working environment in which safety, craftsmanship, and collaboration are central. Even when pressure increases, you maintain an overview and ensure focus within the team. You will be given a great deal of freedom and responsibility to lead your project to a successful completion.

Here you are in the right place

At Dura Vermeer Bouw en Vastgoed Utrecht, we are at the beginning of a new chapter. Where for years we were known as a strong renovation/transformation specialist, since the beginning of this year we have grown into a full-fledged Construction and Real Estate organization. In addition to renovation and transformation, we now also realize new construction projects in residential and non-residential construction, and we are taking the next step towards our own area and real estate development.

That means you will find yourself in an organization that is in full motion. With over 100 colleagues within our operating company, we are not only building sustainable homes, utility projects, and living environments, but also the future of our own organization. The lines are short, the ambitions are great, and the opportunities to help build new ways of working, teams, and projects are plentiful.

Here you get the space to make an impact. Not from the sidelines, but right in the middle of a fresh organization that is further developing itself and in which entrepreneurship, collaboration, and ownership are central. Together we build projects we are proud of and an organization that is ready for the future.

This is what you bring

You are a leader on the construction site. Someone who maintains an overview, brings calm when things get tense, and always knows where the priorities lie. For you, safety is never up for discussion. You are visibly present, address people when necessary, and create a culture in which working safely is a matter of course.

Additionally, you get energy from realizing complex projects and building strong teams. You know how to motivate people, delegate responsibility, and achieve results together that everyone can be proud of. You feel right at home in an environment that is constantly developing. You think along, see opportunities, and help our organization continue to grow.

Furthermore, you bring:

-A completed MBO or HBO education in Civil Engineering or similar;

-Extensive experience as an independent site manager or Construction Manager within residential construction, non-residential construction, renovation, or transformation;

-The ability to successfully connect multiple disciplines, construction partners, and colleagues around one common goal;

-Natural leadership and the skill to coach, develop, and inspire teams;

-A strong sense of planning, quality, safety, and cost-conscious construction;

-A structured way of working and the ability to maintain an overview even under pressure;

-Affinity with digital construction processes and modern tools that contribute to efficient execution;

-Experience with BIM, KYP Project, or similar systems is a plus.
