What we're looking for
We are looking for (nearly) graduated students in Dutch Law, Notarial Law, Tax Law, or Fiscal Economics. You are entrepreneurial and willing to make an active contribution to the growth and development of the firm. Furthermore, you have a demonstrable legal interest, strong analytical skills, and you are and remain curious about current social and legal developments. Finally, we are looking for candidates who enjoy working in (international) teams on cross-border matters.
The role
We are looking for entry-level talent throughout the year. Have you (nearly) graduated in Dutch Law, Notarial Law, Tax Law, or Fiscal Economics? Then apply for a position as a trainee lawyer, candidate notary, or tax advisor.
What you'll do
You will start as a lawyer within one of our seven practice groups. As a tax specialist, you will work in the Tax practice group, and as a candidate notary in Real Estate or Corporate. After 1.5 years, you will switch practice groups (with the exception of tax specialists, and for candidate notaries, this is optional) to optimally develop your general legal knowledge, your ability to collaborate with multiple practice groups, and your working methodology. You will also be supported in this through guidance and various local and international courses and training programs, such as the DLA Piper Career Academy: an international curriculum, in which you will get to know your colleagues from all over the world and have joint, physical training days (either domestically or abroad).
Main duties and responsibilities
As a Junior Associate, you will participate directly in a high-quality practice and will soon get the opportunity to work independently on matters, advise clients, or litigate. You will do this in a team of various colleagues and under the guidance of one or more Partners. Additionally, you will be encouraged to enrich your knowledge and experience and to give something back to society by working on (international) Pro Bono projects or activities. Finally, during your trainee lawyer period, you will of course follow the Professional Training for Lawyers (BA) and the Law Firm School (LFS): a collaboration between 18 international law firms with a supplementary program, tailored to international, commercial legal practice.
About you
Hiring process
Do you recognize yourself in this profile? Then apply quickly for this position. We would like to receive your cover letter, CV, transcripts, and any internship evaluations, after which we will contact you to potentially schedule the first interview with the Graduate Recruiter. Are you hesitating about whether you meet all the above characteristics? Then we would still love to receive your application. A quick call to discuss it is, of course, always possible!
