Bevolkingsonderzoek Nederland is looking for a procurement advisor (32-36 hours) as soon as possible. Independent, advisory, process-oriented, and result-oriented: that is you! You know exactly what is happening within our organization, you translate departmental and organizational goals, and of course, you ensure that all purchases comply with the relevant requirements, such as the Public Procurement Act 2012. Additionally, you are an excellent networker and know how to bring relevant knowledge in from the outside. You make the connection between demand and supply!
Our core values engaged, reliable, and accessible are reflected in our internal organization and our relationship with the outside world. They provide us with direction to constantly improve our work and our organization. #Togetherformillions!
The procurement & contract management (I&CM) department is responsible for supporting contract owners by procuring and managing their most important contracts. This includes contracts for the maintenance of the mobile screening units for breast cancer screening, the laboratories that analyze the self-sampling tubes, consumables such as the self-sampling sets for cervical cancer, and the IT infrastructure for managing the invitation process. The total value of these contracts exceeds € 100 million per year.
A large part of the screening process is outsourced to our chain partners, and because of your role, you therefore make an important and direct contribution to the screening, which is motivating! As Procurement Advisor, you will focus primarily on the procurement of these most important contracts, together with the contract managers.
Due to increasing digitalization, we face a major challenge in correctly procuring the desired services and products for the information management, information technology, and information security and privacy departments (collectively IV). Therefore, affinity and preferably experience with IV themes is a plus.
Procurement within BVO NL means that you keep the focus on the business—screening for cancer—at the forefront. You enjoy delving into the challenges of our colleagues and finding the best solution for now and the future. A good process and compliance with legislation are, of course, prerequisites. We see an important role for ourselves in bringing knowledge in from the outside. We therefore seek out our procurement colleagues at other organizations, use various tools for better insights, discuss strategic themes with our suppliers, and we remain in continuous dialogue with relevant market parties. We translate our knowledge into concrete advice.
You will join a team of twelve colleagues who take on roles as procurement specialists, contract managers, contract administrators, procurement lawyers, and department managers. Our department is fully in development, in which we work closely together. Within the department, we work through a professional group on the development of the procurement function, allowing us to make great strides with our department. Additionally, there are still fun challenges within the organization that we contribute to.

Bevolkingsonderzoek Nederland is responsible for the implementation of three population screening programs in the Netherlands: we screen various population groups for cervical cancer, colorectal cancer, and breast cancer. More than 4.5 million people are invited annually for one or more of these population screenings. At our organization, 950 colleagues work toward the same goal: making a contribution to the early detection of cancer. Early detection helps! It increases the chance of successful treatment and often a less invasive treatment is required. We are proud of our work and our social contribution.
