Model & Governance Specialist Anti-Financial Crime

• HBO/WO working and thinking level (e.g., degree in Data Science, AI, Statistics, or risk management) with demonstrable AI experience
• Knowledge of AI models and associated model risks
• Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations: EU AI Act, WWFT, DNB guidelines, and AMLR
• Strong communication skills to clearly convey complex subject matter to various stakeholders
• Experience with or affinity for the Anti-Financial Crime domain
• Work experience in an MRM, compliance, or governance role within a financial institution (Preferred)
• Knowledge of responsible AI, explainable AI, or model validation (Preferred)

As a Model & Governance Specialist at ASN Bank in Utrecht, you will contribute to the responsible use of AI against financial crime, making an impact on both people and society.

You play a key role in the responsible development and management of AI models within the Anti-Financial Crime domain. With your knowledge of AI, model risks, and laws and regulations, you ensure that innovation and integrity go hand in hand.

Your responsibilities

• You form the bridge between AFC business teams (TM, KYC, Sanctions) and the AIKI development team and translate business issues into concrete model requirements
• You are the point of contact for stakeholders from the first and second lines, including compliance, model validation, and privacy
• You work together with data scientists and engineers on governance processes, from model development to implementation and monitoring
• You translate relevant laws and regulations, such as the EU AI Act, WWFT, DNB guidelines, and AMLR, into practical frameworks for the team
• You proactively signal risks surrounding AI models and actively contribute to a culture of responsible and explainable AI

You are part of the close-knit and ambitious AIKI team within the Innovation & Client Remediation department, an informal, innovative environment where humor and honesty go hand in hand with real impact.

This position falls in scale 10, with a gross monthly salary between € 5,179.72 and € 6,906.29 (based on 36 hours per week). And this is what you will also get from us:
