Role description:
As a Junior Cost Estimator, you will work on challenging urban developments within the Urban Development advisory group. You will work together with experienced colleagues from whom you can learn a lot. With your civil engineering background and interest in the cost aspect of tomorrow's urban developments, you can further develop yourself within an engineering advisory organization into an experienced cost estimator.

Role responsibilities:
As a junior cost estimator, you prepare estimates at SO, VO, or DO level, from Sketch Design to Final Design. You work on urban and industrial, infrastructural projects. You often prepare your estimates according to the SSK methodology. These estimates are used to establish budgets for the client or to design in a budget-driven manner. Additionally, you will develop yourself as a point of contact for the civil engineering designers who prepare specifications and estimates. The team focuses on projects from preparation through to execution, from small to large, in which all phases are completed. Think of public space design, advising on infrastructure developments, technical advising, environmental management & communication, contract advising, and detailed designs. In doing so, integrated contract forms and relieving clients of their burdens are playing an increasingly important role. The clients are municipalities, provinces, developers, contractors, education and healthcare institutions, and industry.

Your advisory group is Urban Development. The advisory group operates from the offices in 's-Hertogenbosch, Maastricht, Zwolle, Amsterdam, Rotterdam, and Goes. Depending on your place of residence, there is space in the team in 's-Hertogenbosch or Rotterdam. The team consists of civil engineering designers, specialists, project leaders, and advisors. For every project, we assemble the best project team to answer the client's request as well as possible. 'Improving quality of life' is the priority. How do we ensure a sustainable future in urban development together. We make use of the latest digital innovations and work internationally with our colleagues.

Project example: the urban development of de Bulkenaar in Roosendaal, "an attractive and easily accessible green buffer between the residential area and the hospital". In addition to the civil engineering implementation, Arcadis has prepared an SSK estimate for the entire urban development consisting of a new access road with a connection to the highway and a structural covering of a pipeline street of 600 m2, construction of a connecting road with under-tunneling of the railway, and the development of a healthcare landscape. A beautiful integrated task that was worked on by a wide team.
