A completed university degree in Civil Engineering, or a HBO (higher professional education) degree, preferably supplemented with a degree at the MSEng or HTI level.
Approximately 5 years of work experience as a Civil Structural Engineer at a (medium) large contractor or engineering firm.
Knowledge of SCIA or similar calculation software.

The role

As a civil structural engineer, you make a difference by contributing to our innovative projects. You work as an independent specialist on various projects or teams. You are given all the space and freedom to come up with innovative solutions that make a difference in the leading projects realized by Boskalis Netherlands.

As a civil structural engineer, you work in the design department of the corporate office. The Design Department is responsible for the total design expertise during tenders and acquired projects, often with an integral and multidisciplinary character. The design department team is divided into four disciplines: design management, geographic design, structural design, and technical installations.

What you are going to do as a civil structural engineer

You are a specialist in the field of structures such as bridges, tunnels, viaducts, and aqueducts, but also in the field of hydraulic engineering structures such as quay walls, jetties, locks, and weirs.
During the tender phase and throughout ongoing projects, you are busy solving complex and technical issues.
You have the ambition and potential to become the technical specialist in the team.
Based on your extensive professional knowledge and the ability to come up with innovative solutions, you are the go-to person for the structural engineer. You see difficult questions as a challenge and tackle them head-on.
Naturally, structural safety is always at the top of your agenda, and you know flawlessly what is possible within its limits.
As a Civil Structural Engineer, we offer you extensive training opportunities to further specialize in your area of interest.

How you'll work

Where you will work: We work hybrid. In consultation with your manager and your team, you will work partly from home and partly in the office.
Full-time/ part-time: The position is full-time.

In addition to this cluster, the department consists of the following departments: Design Leaders group, Geographic Design cluster, and Technical Installation group. Approximately 50 employees work in the design team.
