Design & Proposal Engineer Civil

• A completed HBO or WO degree in civil engineering, architecture, or similar
• Demonstrable experience in a similar role (design/engineering + proposals)
• Experience within the maritime or civil sector is a strong plus
• Commercial insight and the ability to translate technology into customer value
• Strong communication skills and a proactive attitude
• Independence and ownership: you take charge and see it through
• Good command of the Dutch and English languages

Within Damen, we have a civil engineering department where we specialize in the design and realization of (mostly foreign) projects such as:

As a Civil Design & Proposal Engineer, you are a pivot between technology and commerce. You are responsible for the design, the budget, and the technical substantiation of quotes for both large and small maritime and civil projects. Occasionally, you will travel abroad.

• Designing and calculating civil (maritime) structures
• Drafting technical concepts and translating them into feasible solutions
• Developing offers and quotes, including cost calculations
• Intensive collaboration with sales, engineering, and project teams
• Technical sparring partner for clients and internal stakeholders
• Thinking along about innovative and efficient solutions within projects
• Regular (international) travel for project visits and client contact

The projects are characterized by the often remote location of the project.
