Design lead Industry / Project lead, Structural Design & Engineering

• Completed WO (University) degree in civil engineering or architecture (construction) or HBO (University of Applied Sciences) in architecture (construction) with an addition such as HTI Concrete/Steel structural engineer;
• At least 5 years of relevant technical-substantive work experience in all common construction materials, especially in concrete, steel, wood, and masonry;
• At least 5 years of experience leading design processes in large-scale construction projects;
• Experience with design management and multidisciplinary project coordination (including BIM)
• You speak/write Dutch, good English, and value collaboration with international colleagues;

Role description:
As Design lead Industry, you lead beautiful and challenging mono- or multidisciplinary projects. You are responsible for directing complex design processes and multidisciplinary teams within civil engineering, structures, and architecture, also known as CSA Lead (Civil, Structural & Architectural). You do this based on your knowledge and experience with the structural design of complex buildings. You establish design standards, monitor technical quality, and ensure that projects meet the highest requirements in terms of sustainability, safety, and innovation.

Role responsibilities:

• Leading the digital engineering process within CSA projects, from initiation to delivery.
• Coordinating BIM models, data exchange, and digital collaboration between different disciplines.
• Point of contact for internal and external stakeholders regarding design, digitalization, modeling, and information management.
• Implementing Arcadis standards, best practices, and the latest digital tools within projects.
• Guiding team members in the use of digital applications, including training and coaching.
• Monitoring data quality, information flows, and compliance with contractual and legal requirements.
• Contributing to innovation by identifying and applying new digital developments within CSA.

Structural Design & Engineering Advisory Group
Your advisory group is Structural Design & Engineering (SD&E) and they focus on the structural design of buildings and their development in outline and in detail. The advisory group is part of the Places division and falls under the Real Estate Design & Consultancy market group. They focus on both mono- and multidisciplinary projects. In addition to design and engineering, they are able to provide specialist advice in the field of construction defects and building safety. Additionally, SD&E focuses on project leadership and project management.

Projects include, for example: The Cube House Amsterdam, Binnenhof-Tweede Kamer, Johan Cruijff ArenA, Preventief versterken NO Nederland, Maasboulevard Venlo, Mosae Forum, De Spakler Amsterdam, The View Rotterdam, The Joan Amsterdam, ASML, Friesland Campina, Rijksmuseum, Holland Casino, and Zwolle court.

Within the projects, sustainability, circular construction, innovative material use, and design automation are important focal points.

Qualifications & Experience:
We are looking for an experienced Design Lead Industry, preferably with a structural background. You bring experience with large-scale industry/utility projects. You are enthusiastic and driven, and possess good communication and organizational skills. You have a Digital Mindset and are a team player. You know how to excellently connect the various design disciplines.
