You work at the intersection of strategy, change, and communication. You are smart, social, and creative, you love collaboration, and you know the dynamics that belong to a research institute and hospital. You have a good sense of which situations require you to switch gears quickly and which changes require time and perseverance. Additionally, you are strategic, but you also have a 'hands-on mentality'.

You provide direction to internal communication and change.

You help employees and managers understand changes, make them discussable, and actively work with them. And you know that change does not start or end with a communication plan. Not even if that plan is very well constructed.

You lead (complex) communication projects from strategy to execution.

You work project-based, bring focus, and set priorities. You know that not everything can be done at once; that is exactly when you help to make the right choices.

You connect the inner world with the outer world.

You contribute to ensuring that our reputation, culture, and communication are connected to one another. What we promise on the outside, we want to realize on the inside. Therefore, you ensure coherence between internal communication, external communication, corporate communication, and our media policy. You also participate in our spokesperson and accessibility service.

You belong to the marketing, communication, and fundraising department (MC&F) and are part of the communication team. A large, enthusiastic, and sociable team that works hard with pleasure on diverse issues, such as PR and media, information, profiling, employer branding communication, and internal communication. No two days or issues are the same.

You are a strategic thinker who quickly grasps complex issues and reduces them to their core. You see connections, set priorities, and know how to involve people in a collective approach. You feel comfortable with both direction and realization, and you do not immediately get unsettled when reality does not adhere to our plans for a moment.

• Thinking and working at an academic level, with a suitable education, for example in communication or a related field.

• Extensive experience with strategic communications advising, preferably in a hospital, healthcare institution, or a scientific institute.

• Knowledge of internal communication and change communication, preferably during organizational changes.

• A practical attitude: you can develop communication strategies and realize them in practice. Additionally, you have a project-based way of working.

• Demonstrable experience with (crisis) spokesperson duties; experience with spokesperson duties, PR, and culture development is a plus.

Because at the AVL, you work on societal issues that matter. You help an ambitious organization continue to develop, contribute to changes that affect the work of employees, and ensure that our strategy becomes visible in daily practice.

The basis for your terms of employment is in accordance with the Cao Ziekenhuizen (Collective Labour Agreement for Hospitals). You will receive from us:

• A one-year contract for 36 hours per week, with a view to a permanent contract. 

• A gross monthly salary between € 4,824.00 and € 7,269.00 based on a 36-hour work week, corresponding to FWG 65 and depending on your experience.

• 144 vacation hours and 57 hours of Personal Life Phase Budget, based on full-time employment.

• Annual 8.33% holiday allowance and a fixed year-end bonus of 8.33%.

• A travel allowance of € 0.23 per km.
