Communications Advisor

• You have a HBO or university degree in the field of communication and at least 8 years of experience as a communication professional in a corporate environment;
• You have demonstrable experience with communication regarding substantive themes related to the energy sector;
• You communicate strongly, advise persuasively, and create support at various levels;
• You analyze quickly, ask critical follow-up questions, and get to the core of complex issues;
• You take initiative, create progress, and stimulate colleagues and stakeholders to take timely action regarding new challenges or opportunities;
• You are ambitious and proactively manage your own development;
• You work effectively with internal and external stakeholders and know how to carefully weigh diverse interests;
• You are organizationally sensitive, diplomatic, and effective in complex or sensitive situations;
• You have excellent speaking and writing skills in Dutch and English;
• You are willing to fulfill a communication role within our crisis organization. On-call duty is part of this.

We offer you a challenging position with many responsibilities within an innovative and dynamic working environment. You will work in the Strategy & Positioning team within Corporate Communications. Here, you will work together with (senior) communication professionals who contribute daily to the positioning, reputation, and corporate communication of TenneT. Together with the Political Affairs and Business Development & Consulting teams, Corporate Communications forms the Corporate Affairs department.

Therefore, for full-time employment, we offer you:

• A permanent contract with a two-month probationary period, based on 32 to 40 hours per week.

For the Strategy & Positioning team within Corporate Affairs Netherlands (CAN), we are looking for a senior strategic communications advisor who provides direction, connects, and makes an impact in the energy transition.

The Netherlands is electrifying and becoming more sustainable at a high pace. To keep the Netherlands running, TenneT is expanding the high-voltage grid, innovating to better utilize the grid, and thus working towards a reliable, affordable, and sustainable energy system for the future. This requires communication that provides direction, connects interests, and makes complex themes understandable. In this role, you will contribute directly to the story and positioning of TenneT in an environment that is constantly in motion.

You advise senior management and our Executive Committee on strategic communication issues. You substantiate choices clearly, create support, and remain steadfast in course when necessary. Additionally, you develop and implement integrated communication, both internal and external, around strategic themes such as grid capacity, digitalization, innovation, and the energy system of the future. You will be given plenty of room here to take initiative and visibly advance plans.

You are a proactive and energetic communication professional who combines strategic insight with a pragmatic approach, thereby making an active contribution to both the development and the execution of communication activities. You have experience working with internal and external stakeholders at various levels and know how to effectively tailor communication to diverse target groups, interests, and needs. You quickly familiarize yourself with complex organizational and stakeholder environments. Additionally, you actively follow developments in the outside world and know how to translate these into relevant communication opportunities and points of attention for the organization.

On our strategic themes, you will work intensively with your colleagues from Brand, Content & Channel, Political Affairs, Media Relations, and with communication colleagues in the region. You will take the lead in this: you provide overview, connect perspectives, and translate strategy into communication with visible impact.
