The role

Due to significant growth in the Netherlands, WSP BU Transport & Infrastructure wants to strengthen the expertise of our Water Engineering team in Breda or Rotterdam .

Water shapes the Netherlands and demands craftsmanship. From dike reinforcements and quay constructions to locks: hydraulic engineering infrastructure requires management, oversight, and a sharp eye for quality. As an Infrastructure Projects Supervisor (Water Engineering) at WSP, you stand in the middle of the execution and represent our clients in projects that make a difference.

What you'll do

From the start of the design, you are involved in hydraulic engineering infrastructure projects. During the design phases, you contribute your thinking to determine the optimal execution method. The focus of your activities lies in the execution phase. You are visible and approachable on the construction site. You monitor progress, assess the work of contractors against the contract and design, and adjust where necessary. Safety, quality, and diligence form the basis of everything you do.

You work on projects in a complex environment, often for governments and semi-governments, such as municipalities, water boards, or port authorities. You switch smoothly between technical, contractual, and environmental aspects and know how to identify risks early. In doing so, you always keep the bigger picture in view: a project that is not only technically correct, but also administratively and socially supported.

Although you work intensively with executing parties, you operate explicitly on behalf of the client and WSP. Your role is assessing, connecting, and guiding, not executing. That is precisely where your strength lies.

What are we looking for in you?

At least three years of experience as a site manager and/or supervisor within infrastructure projects
Demonstrable affinity with and knowledge of hydraulic engineering works
Experience with UAV‑ and RAW contracts and working in projects where different interests converge
A sharp eye for quality, safety, and progress
Excellent command of the Dutch language, strong communication skills, and the ability to connect interests
