Supply Chain/Logistics Internship

Within Vlisco, the assortment of Dyestuff & Chemical Products (D&C) will change in the coming years due to innovations and changes in the production process. During this internship, you will research how we can respond optimally to this from the perspective of inventory management and procurement. You will develop a practical decision model for inventory levels, order quantities, and purchasing agreements, working with logistical and historical data.

In addition to your research assignment, you will participate in the team's daily activities. This gives you the opportunity to apply your knowledge directly in practice and contribute to a current issue within Vlisco.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Research report: develops a practical decision model for inventory levels, order quantities, and purchasing agreements;

• Managing and optimizing desired inventory levels; You will map out current inventory levels, safety stocks, and order quantities and constantly think along on how to optimize these;

• Placing purchase orders and ensuring correct administrative processing;

• Following up on orders and coordinating with suppliers regarding delivery times and any deviations;

• Identifying risks within the supply chain and reporting on them;

• Internal coordination with various departments regarding changes, orders, deliveries, and any shortages

• You are currently pursuing a degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering & Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a similar field;

• You find it interesting to work with data, analyses, and models;

• You have an affinity for inventory management, supply chain, and procurement;

• Good command of the Dutch and English languages, both spoken and written;

• You have good knowledge of Excel; experience with data analysis or a BI tool such as Qliksense is a plus;

• You are able to work independently and collaborate within a small team;

• You are curious, critical, and enjoy conducting independent research and communicating with various stakeholders.

WHAT WE OFFER:
The conditions applicable to you as an intern are listed below:

• A challenging and educational internship of 16 weeks or longer;

• An internship allowance of €450 per month based on 32-40 hours, pro rata;
