The role

We face a major challenge: the Netherlands is electrifying at a rapid pace, and our energy grid must be prepared for it. And as a Lead Electrical Engineer, you can contribute to that!

You will join the Engineering, Procurement & Construction team, abbreviated as EPC. This team works on integrated projects primarily concerning the new construction of high-voltage substations. We handle the entire package, from engineering to execution, working in close cooperation with the executing Omexom business units. This way, you truly see the result of your work: from a schematic on paper to a working installation that lasts for decades. The projects are large-scale and often run for months to years, during which we work with various contract forms such as framework agreements, UAV, and UAV-GC.

You will be involved with the secondary, or also known as electrical, part of high-voltage installations. This provides the control and protection of high-voltage substations. You are responsible for the electrotechnical line as well as for the planning and financial progress of your part.

Omexom is not a place for waiting around. We are looking for someone who takes charge. You determine how you approach your projects, which choices you make, and how you lead your team. This requires someone who takes initiative and dares to take responsibility.

This role is a fit for someone who enjoys being the technical authority that the team can build upon. You provide direction, make choices, and ensure that people understand why, not just what.

At Omexom, we work on the energy network of tomorrow. Smarter, more sustainable, and safer. As the specialist in high voltage in the Netherlands, we realize projects that matter, for grid operators and large consumers, involving new construction, expansions, renovations, and maintenance of energy infrastructure.

With us, you will work in a close-knit team within a regional business unit, with plenty of room for responsibility and growth. At the same time, you are part of VINCI Energies: an international network of technical experts in more than 40 countries. In this way, we combine the best of two worlds: local and personal, with all the possibilities to further develop yourself.

Together, we make the energy transition a reality. Powered By Your Energy.

What you'll do

  • Responsible for all electrotechnical aspects within the project, such as specifications, drawings, and calculations, fitting the chosen contract form
  • You lead and coach your team of engineers
  • You review electrotechnical designs, schematics, and calculations and provide direction for improvements
  • You monitor the budget, planning, and quality of the electrotechnical work
  • You bring together and align various parties - clients, contractors, suppliers, and internal disciplines
