Sheet Metal Operations Manager

The role

As Operations Manager, you are responsible for the performance of the entire Sheet Metal department. You directly manage four Production Leaders and indirectly manage 70 operators and Engineers, ensuring that quality, safety, delivery reliability, productivity, and cost control continuously improve.

You are highly present on the shop floor and have visibility into what is happening within the operation. You identify bottlenecks early, steer towards the right priorities, and ensure that improvements are actually realized.

Together with your team, you improve processes, increase efficiency, and build a production organization that produces correctly the first time. To do this, you use Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies and translate improvement initiatives into measurable results.

Your responsibilities

• Achieving objectives in the areas of Safety, Quality, Logistics, Technology, and Cost.
• Creating a culture in which continuous improvement is second nature.
• Improving production processes using Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
• Ensuring a safe, efficient, and structured working environment.
• Actively participating in problem analyses and solving operational challenges.
• Being responsible for a stable and manageable production schedule.
• Collaborating intensively with, among others, Purchasing, Engineering, Quality, Logistics, and Technical Service.
• Initiating and realizing improvement projects that contribute to the strategic objectives of the organization.

You know what is happening, address people on behavior and performance, and provide clear direction. At the same time, you are coaching, accessible, and know how to bring employees along during changes. With your experience within a sheet metal shop or similar production environment, you understand how important quality, delivery reliability, and efficiency are. You have a strong drive to continuously improve processes, performance, and collaboration. In doing so, you do not only look at today's results, but also build an organization that is ready for the future. You appreciate structure, work from clear standards, and know how to create an environment in which employees take ownership and bring out the best in themselves. Through your coaching approach, both people and performance grow.
