You don't lead from your desk, but from the shop floor. Because you are a connector between people, processes, and practice
Are you a calm, stable leader who prefers to be right in the middle of the team? As an operations manager, you are the link between the office and the shop floor. You manage with an eye for both people and processes and ensure that everyone knows where they stand. No hierarchical nonsense, but truly building improvement together. You walk in work boots, talk to both technicians and management, and know what is happening. With your calm approach and long-term vision, you provide direction and confidence.
This will be your job
As an operations manager, you provide daily leadership to the teams on the shop floor consisting of approximately 35 FTE. You are literally among the people, know what is happening, and are the first point of contact for questions, bottlenecks, or improvements.
What you are going to do:
Being present on the shop floor daily.
Leading the operation, with attention to collaboration and development.
Connecting the office and the field; you keep lines short and communication open.
Stimulating process improvement, with an eye for feasibility and support.
Translating long-term goals into concrete steps on the shop floor.
People-oriented management, where you leave room for initiative and growth.
You are visible, approachable, and know how to bring calm and structure to a dynamic environment.
Experience in an operational leadership role, preferably in a technical or production environment.
A people manager with an eye for both the individual and the organization.
Strong communication skills; you switch easily between the shop floor and the office.
A down-to-earth and practical attitude; you maintain overview and calm.

More about Dura Vermeer
Dura Vermeer is an independent family business. And you can feel it. In how we work together, look out for one another, and build with an eye for future generations. Since 1855, we have been building the Netherlands, in residential construction, civil engineering, infrastructure, and technology. Our independence and long-term vision form the foundation of this.
With a turnover of € 2.6 billion and over 3,700 colleagues, we are among the top of the Dutch construction sector. But ultimately, it is not about those figures for us. It is about people. About colleagues working together on projects you can be proud of—iconic and close to home—and contributing to solutions for societal issues.
Our ambitions are great. And we only achieve them with committed people. That is why we invest in good employer ship and a work environment in which you feel at home. Where you can be yourself, feel safe, and speak up. So that you get the best out of yourself and make more together with us.
This is where you belong
This position suits you if you get energy from working with people and maintaining an overview on the shop floor. You are not a manager who holds meetings and sends emails from an office room, but someone who prefers to walk among the people. You are a connector who engages in conversation, identifies bottlenecks, and brings the team along in change.
You know how important it is that people feel heard and that processes are logical and workable. And because you bring calm and overview, you are the stable factor in the daily operation.
