The role
Do you want to work on a storage environment that plays a crucial role within the dynamic world of media? At Talpa Network, you will ensure that large amounts of data are available quickly, securely, and reliably for our production processes and daily (live) operations. As a Senior Storage System Administrator, you combine technical management and complex troubleshooting with innovation and making architectural choices. You will be given the space to further develop the storage platform, implement structural improvements, and make a real impact on our IT infrastructure.
What you'll do
Within the IT Infrastructure team, as a Senior System Administrator, you are the technical point of contact for our storage environment. You keep the storage of corporate and media data secure, available, and performant. You work closely with system and network administrators, Security, Broadcast (radio/tv), and vendors.
• Managing, configuring, and optimizing enterprise storage (such as Qumulo, NAS/SAN, and SMB/NFS), including shares, volumes, permissions, quotas, and replication;
• Monitoring capacity, availability, and performance (IOPS, throughput, and latency); analyzing bottlenecks and preparing expansions in a timely manner;
• Executing lifecycle management: updates, firmware, hardware replacement, migrations, expansions, and technical improvement projects;
• Ensuring backup and recovery: retention, restore tests, recovery procedures, and disaster recovery;
• Resolving complex disruptions across storage, virtualization, and networks; performing root-cause analyses and realizing structural solutions;
• Improving security and continuity via access management, patching, logging, monitoring, and resilience against data loss and ransomware;
• Automating and documenting management tasks; substantiating technical choices and supporting less experienced colleagues.
In addition to your storage focus, you contribute to broader system administration, including Windows Server and VMware/vSphere environments. You take ownership of improvements and translate technical risks into concrete proposals.
Colleague Quote "No two days are the same: you are challenged to think critically, solve problems, and help build reliable, scalable, and future-proof IT solutions. You work with modern storage and virtualization platforms, but also get the space to contribute to diverse IT technologies and innovations, where AI is playing an increasingly large role. We have a fun and experienced team in which individual initiative is valued, but where there is also much attention to collaboration, both within the team and with colleagues from different disciplines."
AI at Talpa
AI is changing the way we work, create, and innovate. At Talpa, we expect you to be curious about the possibilities of AI and to use them actively and responsibly, where relevant to your role, to make your work smarter, better, and more creative. You continue to develop yourself in this, share insights with colleagues, and keep an eye on both the opportunities and the risks of AI, including privacy, security, and reliability.
