Millions of Dutch people stay informed about the latest news via Hart van Nederland. Through our social media, website, the Talpa Network radio stations, and of course on television (SBS6), we bring the news of the day, from early morning until late in the evening. For our morning edition, we are looking for an editor who gets up early to wake up the Netherlands with the most important news.

The morning shift begins as early as 04:00 AM with preparations for the first live broadcast at 06:30 AM. In this role, you are continuously engaged with the latest news: you scout for relevant developments, call emergency services or experts, and check facts to ensure that everything is correct.

You work quickly and switch gears easily. For example, you might record a video call and immediately edit it yourself into an item that is broadcast just half an hour later. You pitch your ideas to the editor-in-chief and receive plenty of room to write your own texts, select footage, and apply your creativity. When major news breaks, you are flexible and adjust your working hours to inform the Netherlands live about the latest developments as quickly as possible. At the end of the morning, you look back on the broadcasts together with the team and evaluate what went well and what can be improved.

Working on a live TV program in the early morning has something special about it. Your day begins in the middle of the night, but you are not alone: you work in a close-knit and energetic team that keeps each other sharp and helps through the early hours. Moreover, you are already finished with your workday around 10:00 AM. You have a direct influence on the stories told that morning. The morning edition of Hart van Nederland focuses on the most important news from the Netherlands, but also pays attention to international developments and lighter news. Because alongside the heavy news, there is also room for positive stories, special actions, and striking events.
