With more than 5,000 colleagues worldwide, we contribute to innovative mobility solutions that make traffic safer, smarter, and more sustainable. From Europe to Asia and from North America to Australia – wherever you look, SWARCO is in motion. Will you join our team?
Anyone can fall ill. The question, therefore, is not if it happens, but how you handle it as an employer. How do you ensure that someone can return to work healthy as quickly as possible? And even better: how do you prevent someone from falling ill and how do you ensure that employees remain fit, healthy, and sustainably employable? These are the issues where you, as a Casemanager / Absence Specialist, make a daily difference for our employees and managers, and thereby provide great added value to the SWARCO organization.
As an Absence & Employability Advisor, you are the specialist in the field of absenteeism within SWARCO. You are the sparring partner for managers regarding complex absenteeism issues and ensure that employees receive the right guidance on their way to recovery and sustainable employability.
You advise on the correct approach, support during conversations, and think along about appropriate interventions. In doing so, you do not take over the work, but rather ensure that the right person takes action at the right time. This way, you help managers to fulfill their roles effectively and keep the responsibility where it belongs.
You independently manage multiple absenteeism files at the same time. You monitor progress, maintain an overview of the various parties involved, and ensure that files comply with the Gatekeeper Improvement Act (Wet verbetering poortwachter). You know which interventions are possible, when they should be deployed, and ensure that opportunities to promote recovery and return to work are optimally utilized. Whether you are coordinating with an employee, manager, HR Business Partner, or our occupational health service, you ensure that everyone knows what needs to be done and when.
You also take the lead regarding our occupational health service. You monitor the quality of the service, keep track of the agreements made, and ensure that the support aligns with what SWARCO needs. You identify bottlenecks, discuss them, and adjust where necessary. In this way, you ensure that we make optimal use of the knowledge, possibilities, and services available within the contract.
Additionally, you look beyond the individual file. You analyze absenteeism figures, recognize patterns, and signal where extra attention is needed. Together with HR and managers, you work on improvements in policy, processes, and preventive initiatives. For example, you organize PAGO's (Return-to-Work meetings), think along about sustainable employability, and help managers better fulfill their role regarding absenteeism. All with the goal: a healthy working climate and a safe working environment in which employees are and remain sustainably employable.
What we offer
At SWARCO, we believe a new job should offer more than just an attractive salary or an interesting project. We believe the whole picture must be right. That is why we offer you a varied and challenging position, where you can work on cool projects that truly matter. From day one, we provide an extensive onboarding process. Your growth and development are highly valued by us; therefore, you will be given the space to follow both internal and external training and education. What else you receive based on full-time employment:
Who we are looking for
As a person, you are naturally someone who connects and is persuasive. You communicate easily with employees, managers, HR, and external parties. Because of this, you know how to get people moving and create support for the right approach. At the same time, you are not afraid to hold up a mirror. If the situation calls for it, you ask critical questions, hold people accountable for agreements made, and provide clear advice.
You work in a structured manner, maintain an overview, and are not easily discouraged. Even when multiple files, interests, and deadlines are at play simultaneously, you know how to set priorities and maintain control. You are analytical, recognize patterns, and keep asking questions until you have brought the core of a problem to the surface. Furthermore:
