What we offer
At SWARCO, we believe a new job should offer more than just an attractive salary or an engaging project. We believe the whole picture must be right. That is why we offer you a varied and challenging position, where you can work on cool projects that truly matter. From day one, we provide an extensive onboarding process. Your growth and development are a top priority for us; therefore, you will be given the space to follow both internal and external training and education. What else you receive based on full-time employment:
A complex fault in a control system. A complete installation that needs to be replaced. Or a technical improvement that can grow into a completely new project. As a Technical Manager at SWARCO, these are exactly the challenges you love to sink your teeth into. You investigate what is happening, determine what is technically required, and bring the right people and expertise together. From the first technical question to a solution that continues to work in the long term. Sound like you?
As a Technical Manager at SWARCO, you are responsible for the technical content within various maintenance contracts from our branch in Wormerveer. A diverse portfolio in which bridges and locks are alternated with technical installations at Schiphol. In doing so, you work closely with the Service Manager, Project Coordinators, Maintenance Engineers, Service Technicians, and Service Specialists. The Service Manager focuses primarily on the process and contractual side, and the Project Coordinators assist with, among other things, preparation, planning, and ordering. You are the one who sinks your teeth into the technology.
Many of the challenges you will work on arise during daily maintenance. For example, our Service Technicians signal that an installation is due for replacement, the same fault keeps recurring, or a technical improvement is needed. You analyze what is happening, perform a technical survey yourself where necessary, and involve engineers, suppliers, or other specialists to reach the right solution.
In addition to preventive and corrective maintenance, much additional work arises from improvements, replacements, renovations, and new construction. You recognize these opportunities, map out what is required, and develop this into an advisory report for the client. In doing so, you ensure the technical content is correct and work closely with colleagues who safeguard the contractual and financial aspects.
If additional work is carried out, you remain involved from a technical perspective and provide functional direction to the execution where necessary. You also ensure that changes are properly secured within the maintenance contract. For example, think of adjusting maintenance lists, work instructions, or documentation, so that new or modified installations are also properly included in management and maintenance for the long term.
You are also an important technical interlocutor for clients, suppliers, and subcontractors. And when it becomes truly complex, your colleagues know how to find you, even for complex faults outside of regular working hours. Sometimes you help them further from the office, sometimes you go out yourself for a fault or technical survey. You do not have to be the specialist in every technical field, but you do have the technical depth to understand complex installations, ask the right questions, and bring different specialisms together.
Who we are looking for
You are someone who takes responsibility and maintains an overview when things get complex. You think ahead, foresee the consequences of technical choices, and know when to adjust course. You work independently, take initiative, and feel responsible for the result. Additionally, you are socially and communicatively strong and switch easily between colleagues, clients, suppliers, and other specialists. You know how to engage people through your technical knowledge and can provide sound substantiation for your choices. Furthermore, you are pragmatic and entrepreneurial: you see what is needed and ensure it happens. Furthermore:
