What we're looking for

You have completed an MBO-4 education in the field of mechanical engineering, installation technology, or mechatronics, or something that closely aligns with that. Additionally, you have further developed yourself through courses within the field.
You have knowledge of mechanical installations and know how to maintain them in practice and resolve malfunctions. Think of steam and condensate systems, cooling installations, climate installations, and for example diesel engines. You also have basic knowledge of measurement and control technology and can logically analyze malfunctions.
You are accustomed to working according to fixed methods and quality standards. You understand that this is extra important in a hospital and act accordingly.
You can read and understand technical documentation in English.
Because you participate in the on-call service, you live, or will live, at a maximum of approximately 20 minutes from the hospital.

Nice to have

You preferably have at least 2 years of work experience in the maintenance and management of technical installations, for example in utilities or industry. If you have done this in a hospital, that is a great advantage.

What you'll get

A one-year contract for 36 hours per week (4 x 9 hours is possible) with the intention, provided organizational circumstances remain unchanged and there is satisfaction on both sides, to convert this into a permanent contract.
The salary is classified according to scale 45 (Mechanical Engineer B, FWG 3.0) and amounts to a minimum of € 3,228.-- and a maximum of € 4,346.-- per month based on 36 hours per week. If you begin performing the on-call service, the position will be upgraded to FWG 50 (max. € 4,914.--), Mechanical Engineer B. Additionally, you will receive an 8.33% holiday allowance and an 8.33% year-end bonus.

We are looking for a new mechanical engineer colleague for the Housing department at the Harderwijk location. Your role includes the following:

What you'll do

The hospital is filled with the most modern technologies and equipment, and we are looking for a motivated, experienced mechanical engineer with extensive experience in the field of climate installations, cooling installations, and Measurement & Control technology. To ensure the care and safety of our patients, visitors, and staff, you will inspect and manage equipment and installations. You will schedule and, as far as possible, independently perform all kinds of maintenance, repair, overhaul, modification, and repair work, for example on our cooling and climate installations, water treatment installations, medical gases, and heating/steam installations.

Additionally, you will assess mechanical designs for new projects and renovation plans and contribute ideas regarding possibilities for sustainability. You will do this using existing procedures, guidelines, and legal requirements. You will independently set priorities in your daily activities in consultation with your direct colleagues. You will solve mechanical engineering problems independently, while always being able to rely on your direct colleagues and the maintenance team leader.

You will also have a role in emergency response and technical calamities. After approximately one year, you will progress to participating in the 24-hour on-call service. You will perform this service approximately once every eight weeks. Because you must be able to be in the hospital within 20 minutes during malfunctions, it is important that you live in the Harderwijk region or are willing to move there.

Finally, there are many maintenance projects to which you can contribute. You will think along and advise on the replacement of equipment and the choices made in this regard. We work with the most modern technologies, so you will have the opportunity to learn a lot. In short, a very dynamic position!

Our Housing team consists of 21 FTE, divided across Harderwijk and Lelystad. You will primarily work in Harderwijk, but you may also be deployed at other St Jansdal locations, such as Lelystad, Dronten, Zeewolde, or Putten.
