Since 2016, the three-year training program to become a Hospital Physician KNMG can be pursued at Ziekenhuis St Jansdal. This is the only medical postgraduate training our hospital offers. As a result, the lines are short and you work closely with medical specialists; together you provide care to patients in a nursing ward. You will become a generalist, the specialist in the field of general pathology who has an eye for multi-problematic cases and polypharmacy. During the training, much attention is paid to disease patterns in the fields of internal medicine, surgery, perioperative care, neurology, geriatrics, general practice, and palliative care. Furthermore, you will be trained as a specialist in improving quality and patient safety.

Through your eye for detail, you know how to optimize departmental processes so that the patient receives the best care.

You are an enthusiastic junior doctor who recognizes the importance of high-quality and safe care for the growing population of multimorbid patients. As a future hospital physician, you want to improve care, but also prove the added value of the profession. You know how to convey this vision and you come up with possibilities to realize this vision.

• A training contract for 38+10 hours per week for the duration of the training. Part-time employment is possible for a minimum of 80%. The training lasts three years and all training costs are reimbursed by us. (Textbooks cost a maximum of up to €500 euro).

• The training consists of a foundation year in internal medicine (eight months ward and four months ER), followed by internships in anesthesiology, surgery, neurology, geriatrics, rehabilitation, and general practice. There are four medically-focused national training days per year, and in the second and third year, you follow a multi-day course on quality and patient safety together with fellow AIOS from other teaching hospitals.

• During the training, the salary is scaled according to function scale 65). This amounts to a minimum of €4,824.- and a maximum of €7,269,- gross per month based on 38 hours.

• In addition, you will receive an 8.33% holiday allowance and an end-of-year bonus of 8.33%.

• You will build up a pension with Pensioenfonds Zorg & Welzijn. Additionally, we offer interesting extras, including a discount on your health insurance premium, company fitness, and the MKA (More Choice Employment Conditions) scheme.

• Via the St Jansdal academy, you can work (online) on your personal and professional development.
