At Royal Lactalis Leerdammer in Schoonrewoerd, milk is produced, sliced, and packaged into cheese in an industrial environment. As a Health & Safety officer, you are the driver of a proactive safety culture and put (fire) prevention on the map. You ensure that safety and (fire) prevention are not just in procedures, but that they are a natural part of our daily work. You are on the shop floor, make contact easily, and know how to get people at the locations moving. Additionally, you play an active role in preventing incidents by identifying risks in a timely manner and, together with colleagues, thinking of and implementing smart, preventive solutions. What does that look like in concrete terms?

• You are an energetic and proactive go-getter who makes contact easily and knows how to inspire others. Giving toolbox talks, instructions, and training gives you energy;

• Stimulate a proactive safety culture by being on the shop floor, engaging in conversation, and making safety discussable in a positive way;

• Support and coach teams in conducting RI&E's (Risk Inventories and Evaluations), incident investigations, drafting improvement proposals, and following up on improvement actions;

• Monitor the progress of the various improvement trajectories;

• You are able to observe trends/changes and make them discussable;

• Lead and support safety and (prevention) projects, tailored to the specific needs of the location. You actively contribute to (new construction) projects;

• Actively support and adjust during deviating work processes, such as (breakdown) maintenance and projects, while utilizing your expertise;

• Ensure compliance with laws and regulations regarding safety, health, and fire prevention and ensure that we stay informed of the latest changes;

• Monitor the implementation of fire prevention measures;

• Direct and support the BHV (Emergency Response) organization in setting up, executing, and evaluating exercises and scenarios;

• Regularly carry out safety visits and translate observations into concrete improvement actions. You also involve department management and keep them alert to necessary improvements and trends within the departments. You know how to work towards continuous improvement here.

You report directly to the Plant Manager. Functionally, you report to the Manager SHE&LP. You work closely with all colleagues in Schoonrewoerd, with the members of the Health & Safety committee, and the prevention organization. Health & Safety Officers are also employed at the Dalfsen and Wageningen locations.
