In their own words
About the company & team
NS is composed of several business units. We work intensively together to bring 1 million travelers to the right destination and provide them with every convenience and service. Every single day. By bringing them to their destination on time, safely, and in a clean train. But also by offering the possibility to park their bicycle, rent a public transport bike, and providing interesting shopping opportunities at the station.
You will work within the Software Desk and Platforms Cluster, part of Train Digitalization:
The cluster provides:
- the process guidance of all IT/OT software changes. This includes the development and management of all necessary products for maintaining the software, such as service laptops, password management, certificate management, etc.;
- the NS in-house development and management of IT software products on the train for the purpose of operating and maintaining the train and passenger comfort (e.g., train travel information, real-time monitoring, train positioning, etc.);
- the direction, development, and management of the necessary platforms on the train and on the ground for the purpose of the IT/OT software products. This includes, among other things, the IT platform on the train, hardware and network in the train, onboard-to-shore communication, remote deployment streets, test walls, and shore applications.
We attach great importance to Agile values and are an environment where people treat each other with respect and where personal responsibility, initiative, and pragmatism are expected and valued.
One of the teams you will work in is the Release and Acceptance Team (RAT), which is responsible for the remote deployment streets and the test walls.
Additional information
At NS, we find diversity and inclusion important; it makes working together more fun and often improves the result. We are especially curious about your vision on agile thinking and an operational critical mindset.
- A background check, including a VOG (Certificate of Conduct), is part of the application procedure. Please also consider the signing of an integrity statement and a non-disclosure agreement.
- We believe it is important that everyone who works with us feels at home. You can see this in everything we do, and therefore also in our hiring policy. Read more here.
- With this vacancy, we wish to recruit our new colleague ourselves. This is therefore NOT a call for acquisition. This position cannot be filled on an interim basis. For that, please see our hiring page.
