What you'll get
At Movares, you work on beautiful projects with societal impact. That provides energy and satisfaction, something that cannot be expressed in money. You contribute to the difference we make together for the public space in the Netherlands by continuing to grow in your craft and as a professional. Therefore, in every phase of your career, you will receive the space to actively shape your development, supported by learning on the job, masterclasses, and a broad learning environment in our own Academy.
That is not all. We also offer good primary and secondary employment conditions. We have listed them for you below:
a salary between €4,000 and €6,500 based on a full-time employment of 40 hours;
the intention to work together sustainably, with a perspective on permanent employment;
an attractive package of secondary employment conditions including tax-advantaged schemes;
sustainable travel for your work with a good mobility scheme;
good facilities to be able to do your work at home or at the office;
a modern pension scheme with attention to your future;
attention to your personal situation, with customized workplace or guidance if necessary.
And there is more. Because working at Movares also means:
trust and flexibility in how and where you work, fitting your team and duties;
work that matters: you contribute to a more sustainable and cleaner living environment, together with colleagues who find this important;
attention to connection and fun during activities with colleagues, both professionally and informally.
The role
You contribute to safe, comfortable, and sustainable buildings that demonstrably contribute to a healthy living environment.
What you'll do
You advise on building physics themes such as acoustics, fire safety, daylight, climate, heat, and moisture. You are involved in the entire design process, from the first sketch through to execution and delivery, thinking integrally along with the design. You work together in integrated design teams, coordinate building physics issues, and guide less experienced colleagues in their development. As a (senior) building physicist, you work on a wide variety of projects, ranging from apartment complexes and hotels to schools, town halls, and specialized buildings such as a fire station. You develop building physics calculation models, perform calculations and measurements, and translate these into clear and applicable advice. In doing so, you coordinate diverse trajectories and ensure that different building physics aspects come together well in the design. You work intensively with colleagues from other disciplines within Movares and coordinate with external parties such as architects, advisors, and contractors.

In their own words
About the company & team
Collaborating with internal and external parties is an important and enjoyable part of your work. You are part of multidisciplinary design teams in which you coordinate with, among others, architects, structural engineers, installers, and project managers. In doing so, you look not only at the interfaces between disciplines, but especially at the integral coherence between building physics themes such as acoustics, daylight, fire safety, and energy.
Furthermore, you work together with colleagues from different disciplines and teams spread across the country, with a strong connection between the hubs, including Den Bosch, Utrecht, and Arnhem. You communicate frequently with structural engineers, W-advisors (water/climate), and building technologists. This collaboration ensures short lines of communication and an intensive exchange of knowledge and expertise. In practice, this means you work on integrated projects in which multiple fields of expertise come together and in which you arrive together at well-coordinated, sustainable, and feasible solutions.
As a building physicist, you will join a close-knit group of about 25 colleagues at Movares. Within the building physics team, you will work together with 8 colleagues. Your colleagues know everything regarding building physics: from daylight entry to insulation and from acoustics to fire safety. You will get to know your colleagues quickly thanks to the fun Friday afternoon drinks and other social activities.
