Solution Development Engineer (Calculation & Advisory) – Building Management Systems

As a Solution Development Engineer (Calculation & Advisory), you are the technical hub between the customer, sales, and project teams. You contribute ideas for the best solution, assess technical possibilities, visit customer sites, and translate complex building installations into a convincing technical design and a realistic project calculation.

You will work with our leading Metasys Building Management System, which integrates HVAC, climate, lighting, security, and energy systems into one intelligent building.

So, this is no standard calculation role, but a role where technology, advisory, and customer contact converge.

From the very first customer contact, you are involved in new projects. You delve into the customer's technical situation, assess installations on-site, and develop solutions that are technically feasible, commercially interesting, and future-proof.

Your responsibilities include, among other things:

• Preparing technical calculations, budgets, and project proposals.
• Analyzing customer requirements and translating them into smart BMS solutions.
• Visiting customer sites to assess existing installations and situations.
• Identifying technical risks and opportunities during the pre-sales phase.
• Advising customers, sales colleagues, and internal stakeholders on the best solution.
• Collaborating with Sales, Operations, Project Engineering, and Installation.
• Requesting and evaluating quotes from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Participating in technical reviews and project meetings.
• Continuously following developments within HVAC, building management, and energy management.

We are looking for a technical specialist who understands how building installations function and who gets energized by finding the best solution for the customer.

For example, you have experience as a:

• Instrumentation & Control Engineering Calculator
• BMS Design Engineer
• Proposal Engineer
• Building Automation Project Engineer
• HVAC / Building Automation Service Engineer
• BMS Software Engineer with an interest in advisory work

In addition, you possess:

• MBO+ or HBO working and thinking level in Electrical Engineering, MIT, Mechatronics, or Installation Technology.
• Experience within Instrumentation & Control Engineering, Building Automation, or Building Management Systems.
• Knowledge of HVAC installations such as air handling units, climate installations, heating, and cooling systems.
• Understanding of how complete building-related installations work together.
• Experience at a system integrator, installer, or similar technical environment is a strong plus.
• Good communication skills and a customer-oriented attitude.
• Good command of the Dutch and English languages.
• A proactive and entrepreneurial attitude.
