The role
You ensure that now and in the future, thousands of Dutch people are transported safely from A to B by train every day.
What you'll do
You will design railway signaling systems that ensure collisions between trains, derailments, or accidents are prevented.
You contribute to the shift from conventional to digital technologies.
You are a team player and, in that context, work on various assignments.
You work together with your team on various assignments, such as PHS Amsterdam, converting unprotected level crossings to protected level crossings, ERTMS, and the renewal of train detection. You design the railway signaling system, perform verification and validation activities, draw up test specifications, and test the signaling installations that you have designed. ERTMS is already the European standard for railway signaling, and Movares is also implementing this in the Netherlands. There is no better moment to join us.

This is who you are at Movares
You are an enterprising and enthusiastic team player with an eye for quality and detail. You switch gears quickly and you enjoy varied work. You do not find it a problem that in your new role you will occasionally have to work in the evenings and on weekends to test and commission signaling installations.
You also bring:
a technical education completed at MBO or HBO level;
affinity with software development / automation;
and of course with railways.
This is what you get at Movares
At Movares, you work on beautiful projects with social impact. That provides energy and satisfaction, something that cannot be expressed in money.
You contribute to the difference we make together for the public space in the Netherlands by continuing to grow in your craft and as a professional. Therefore, in every phase of your career, you are given the space to actively shape your development, supported by learning on the job, masterclasses, and a broad learning environment in our own Academy.
That is not all. We also offer good primary and secondary employment conditions. We have listed them for you below:
a salary between €3,200 and €4,500 based on a full-time employment of 40 hours;
the intention to work together sustainably, with a perspective on permanent employment;
an attractive package of secondary employment conditions, including tax-advantaged schemes;
sustainable travel for your work with a good mobility scheme;
good facilities to be able to do your work at home or at the office;
a modern pension scheme with attention to your future;
attention to your personal situation, with customized workplace or guidance if necessary.
And there is more. Because working at Movares also means:
trust and flexibility in how and where you work, fitting your team and duties;
work that matters: you contribute to a more sustainable and cleaner living environment, together with colleagues who find this important;
attention to connection and fun during activities with colleagues, both professionally and informally.
This is what the Signaling Installations department does
The Netherlands has the busiest railway network in Europe. Everyone wants to be able to travel quickly, but also safely, by train, tram, and metro. The railway signaling systems designed at your new Signaling Installations department make that possible. These are designed and built based on specific Dutch relay and PLC technology and based on European computer-controlled technology ERTMS. But you are not only involved in realization and design, but also in the planning phase. Together with your new colleagues, you support clients throughout the entire life cycle of railway signaling systems: from exploratory studies to design, realization, and maintenance for the protection of train, tram, and metro traffic.
You can also expect this here
In your new department, you will work together with just over 45 technical colleagues—men and women—in three different clusters. Involved, reserved, and down-to-earth are words that describe the majority of your new colleagues well. Furthermore, learning from and with each other is central. For example, every month there is a technical meeting where topics brought in by the group itself are discussed. Additionally, you will receive a training plan so that you acquire new knowledge at a rapid pace, and you will be guided by an experienced colleague—your personal mentor. This way, you can perform your work optimally and can be 100% convinced that what you develop or release on the tracks actually functions correctly.
