Train Signaling Team Leader

You provide direction to a team of specialists, let professionals grow, and work together on train signaling projects with social impact.

• Together with the department manager, you provide direction to the development of the department and contribute to the further growth of the team.

• You coach a team of professionals and help them get the best out of themselves and their projects.

• You manage based on results, capacity, quality, and finances, and ensure a healthy balance between projects, employees, and department objectives.

The Netherlands has one of the busiest railway networks in Europe. Within the Train Signaling Systems department, your colleagues work on systems that allow train, tram, and metro traffic to run safely. As a team leader, you support the department manager and provide direction to the deployment and development of the team. You connect colleagues, stimulate collaboration, and ensure that people and resources align well with what the department needs. The team leader component requires an average of 8 to 12 hours per week; additionally, you personally contribute to projects, for example, regarding ERTMS, verification and validation, or the renewal of existing signaling installations.

You are connecting and decisive, and you switch easily between people, projects, and organizational interests. You bring structure, provide direction, and create a working environment in which our professionals take responsibility and continue to develop. In doing so, you keep an eye on both the results of the department and the development of our colleagues.

You also bring:

• you have a completed HBO (higher professional education) or WO (university) degree in a technical field, such as Electrical Engineering, Technical Informatics, or similar;

• you have experience within train signaling, railway signaling, ERTMS, or similar safety-critical systems;

• you derive energy from coaching and developing professionals in a technical environment.
