Emergency Physician (ER physician)

As an ER physician, you work in a department that matters. In our top-clinical hospital, with Level 1 trauma care, we treat more than 25,000 patients annually - from Twente and Germany. That makes us a hub in the region when it comes to acute care.

Our Emergency Department is fully equipped for highly complex care. We have 22 monitored treatment bays, two trauma rooms, a decontamination unit, and our own CT scan. Thanks to the shared entrance with the GP out-of-hours clinic, we see almost exclusively secondary care patients. And that is exactly what makes the work with us so challenging and relevant.

We are a close-knit team of ER physicians with a clear vision on quality, collaboration, and development. Our population is as diverse as our team: from down-to-earth Twente locals to international students. We are looking to expand our department so that we can also provide structured ER physician care in the evenings.

As an ER physician at MST, you are the director of acute care. You coordinate, act, and supervise. You are responsible for the reception and treatment of patients with various acute conditions – from trauma to ABC instability.

You supervise ANIOS and nurses, and actively participate in hospital-wide committees. PSA, NIV, and POCUS are second nature to you. Additionally, you will have plenty of room to contribute to the development of the specialty and the department – medically, organizationally, and scientifically.
