Anesthesia Assistant Thoracic Surgery

Initially, you will be appointed within the Thoracic OR, but working in the general OR is possible on a rotational basis. You are an indispensable link in the surgical team! You work together with the anesthesiologist during highly complex cardiothoracic procedures, in lung surgery, and also in the cardiac catheterization laboratory. In the Thoracic OR, you mostly work with a physiological focus. You constantly anticipate the patient's condition. You deploy all your skills here for the best patient care. You work with high-end technical equipment.

Operating rooms, intensive care units, cardiac catheterization laboratories, CCU, and first cardiac aid are concentrated on one floor: the hot floor. This includes the three thoracic operating rooms and one hybrid OR. Much attention is paid to innovative developments and the latest surgical techniques.

Because all specialties are represented at MST, there is a different dynamic than in a smaller hospital. We are a large regional trauma center with our own helipad. Within the Thoracic OR, 8 anesthesia assistants are employed. They form a great team that you can rely on if you have questions or if you want to brainstorm about events in the OR, because they experience the same things. Fun team activities are also regularly organized outside of working hours, such as the large Thorax party. Feel at home in the OR!

MST has a 36-hour work week. Within the Thoracic OR, we use a 9-hour workday. Additionally, performing on-call shifts is part of the profession.

We actively ask you to think along about constantly improving the processes in the department. The Thoracic OR is an interesting place for the anesthesia assistant looking for depth within the profession. You will have ample opportunity to follow training courses that help you stay up to date in your profession, and there is also room to grow.

Within the operating complex, there are 2 different corridors; 1 for the general OR and 1 for the Thoracic OR, but colleagues have the opportunity to exchange with one another, ensuring your work is varied and you remain connected to all facets of the profession.

Our new colleague possesses the following competencies and diplomas:

• you hold a diploma as an anesthesia assistant;

• recently graduated colleagues or those graduating soon are also very welcome to apply;

• cardiothoracic experience is not a requirement;

• you are enthusiastic and collegial and can work well in a team;

• you are a trailblazer

• you are open to new things;

• you have an affinity for technology and innovations.

German-speaking colleagues are also very welcome! Several colleagues have already gone before you. We will help you by offering a Dutch course.
