The role
Are you the connecting leader who strategically brings people, care, and innovation together? As Department Manager PMC & Rheumatology at MST, you provide direction to two special areas of care within psychiatric, somatic, and rheumatological care. With your decisiveness and personal style, you build strong teams and future-proof care. Does this unique combination of care and leadership excite you, and are you ready for a new challenge? Then we would love to meet you!
What you'll do
You are integrally responsible for the daily management and the tactical development of the PMC and the Rheumatology department. You monitor the balance between quality, continuity, personnel deployment, business operations, innovation, and collaboration.
You bring professionals, teams, and medical specialists together and translate shared ambitions into concrete results.
You develop a shared vision on the connection between psychiatric and somatic care and translate this into concrete goals and initiatives for both departments.
You stimulate knowledge exchange and multidisciplinary collaboration, so that professionals from different expertises learn from each other and further strengthen patient care.
You provide direction to future-proof care, with attention to quality, accessibility, and patient needs.
You translate developments in appropriate care, chain collaboration, and the changing healthcare demand into opportunities for both departments.
You manage existing teams and, in addition, you guide issues surrounding positioning, task and role distribution, collaboration, staffing, and future-proof organization.
You manage based on quality, safety, business operations, and strong teams, and you safeguard plans and results.
You stimulate ownership, learning, and development, and you are visibly present for employees.
You are a strong conversation partner and contribute to the course of MST.
This is where you will work
As Department Manager PMC & Rheumatology, you are responsible for parts of the Psychomedical Center as well as the Rheumatology department. The Psychomedical Center (PMC) provides care to patients with, among other things, mood, anxiety, and psychosomatic issues. Multidisciplinary teams work closely together on appropriate, cohesive care. The PMC consists of an outpatient clinic, day treatment, intensive home care, and the Medical Psychiatric Unit. Here, psychiatric and somatic care come together. As a result, the patient is central and receives treatment that connects seamlessly to both mental and physical health. Within PMC, you have a fellow department manager with whom you work closely.
In addition to PMC, the Rheumatology department also falls within your area of focus. The department combines medical treatment and long-term guidance for sometimes acute, but often chronic, complaints with a strong focus on care innovation and science. This takes place in close cooperation with the University of Twente. You lead 13 employees from the outpatient clinic and research department and work together with eight rheumatologists and several AIOS (medical residents).
You provide direction to change processes, connect organizational development with team development, and bring employees along in changes.
The combination of these two departments makes the position broad and dynamic. This gives you the space to further shape appropriate care and respond to changing healthcare demands.
You are a strong management sparring partner and work closely with the medical manager on substantive and organizational issues. The connection between medical substantive leadership and business operations is therefore an important part of the role.
What you bring
A completed HBO (higher professional education) degree, supplemented by a management training;
Extensive leadership experience and demonstrable experience with change processes, organizational, and process improvements; Lean is a plus;
Business, strategic, and change management insight and the ability to make complex issues concrete and insightful;
Experience in guiding complex change processes;
You understand both the organizational context and the dynamics within teams and know how to connect them to strengthen collaboration and development and provide direction;
Knowledge of hospital processes and affinity with psychiatric, psychosomatic, and somatic care;
A connecting, organizationally sensitive leadership style and the ability to switch between operations, tactics, and strategy;
Clear communication, decisiveness, and natural leadership with which you motivate, coach, and empower professionals.
Do you want to discover if this versatile management role suits you? Or do you want more information about the content of the position? Feel free to contact Marieke Vos, business manager, via 06-31751729.
