Requirements

What we're looking for

  • An MBO-4 diploma in Dental Assisting;

  • At least two years of relevant work experience;

  • Experience in independently taking X-rays;

  • Flexibility in working days;

  • A proactive work attitude: you see work that needs to be done and you take it on;

  • Good communication skills and empathy;

  • You work accurately, are patient-oriented, and enjoy working together.

The role

Do you want to apply your experience as a dental assistant in special dentistry? At the CBT of MST, you combine chairside work with patient guidance and administrative tasks. You will work together with various healthcare professionals and also assist with treatments under sedation and anesthesia, in both the outpatient clinic and the operating complex. A versatile role in which you apply and further develop your knowledge!

What you'll do

At the Center for Special Dentistry (CBT), you support the dentist during regular treatments and during treatments under sedation and anesthesia. You prepare the treatment and guide the patient before, during, and after the treatment. Additionally, you independently perform orthopantomograms (OPTs).

You work with patients who require special dental care due to their medical, dental, or psychosocial situation. You make them feel at ease and tailor your guidance to what they need.

In addition to your work at the dental chair, you also work in the secretariat, both in the front office and the back office. You receive patients, answer the phone, and schedule appointments.

  • Assisting the dentist during regular treatments and during treatments under sedation and anesthesia;

  • Guiding and reassuring patients before, during, and after the treatment, with attention to their individual care needs;

  • Preparing, setting up, and cleaning up the treatment room and dental materials;

  • Independently performing OPTs;

  • Identifying irregularities and proactively coordinating with the dentist;

  • Monitoring the stock of dental materials and replenishing and ordering them in a timely manner;

  • Receiving and assisting patients, both at the desk and over the phone;

  • Planning, changing, and confirming patient appointments.

This is where you will work

The CBT offers special dental care to patients from Twente and the Achterhoek who cannot be treated in a regular dental practice due to medical, psychological, or physical vulnerability.

You work in a large, multidisciplinary team of dentists, dental assistants, dental hygienists, a prevention assistant, a dental technician, a psychologist, and outpatient clinic assistants.

The CBT shares the department with Oral Surgery. Your activities take place in the outpatient clinic and in the operating complex.

The atmosphere within the team is open and collegial. We work well together with an eye for the patient and for each other.

What you bring

You switch easily between tasks at the dental chair and at the secretariat. You also maintain an overview during busy moments.
