In short

Does data, processes, and supply chain make you curious? And does it give you energy to discover together with experts which insights truly help the business move forward? Then this internship is for you!

At Component Services (CS), we ensure that aircraft components are available worldwide for Air France-KLM and external customers. The Data, Transformation & Continuous Improvement (DTCI) department executes change initiatives within CS and provides the insights with which the company makes better decisions.

Most of your time, you will join the Product Team of Component Services Business Intelligence (CSBI) and learn how usable dashboards, reports, and improvements arise from business questions and data. A smaller part of your time will be spent on project support and internal communication, so you also see how changes within the organization are handled.

What will you do?

You will work under guidance and will be given space to learn, to try, and to provide your own input.

The majority of your internship (±80%) revolves around supporting the Product Team that provides insights for the entire Component Services business. You will, among other things:

  • Learn more about the core processes of Component Services (Logistics, Commercial, Supply Chain, and Repair) and help to map and visualize these, for example with process models and data flows;
  • Support the Product Owner and the Product Team, for example by making business requests transparent;
  • Assist in testing dashboards and reports;
  • Experience how Agile/SAFe works in practice;
  • Translate business processes into diagrams and data models, such as with ERDs;
  • Investigate what the business needs and help to sharpen the requirements;
  • Work together with the development team and assist in writing user stories;
  • Contribute to more 'data-driven decision-making' within Component Services.

Additionally (±20%), you will support the entire Project Board process. Every week, the progress of ongoing projects is discussed in this meeting with the management team. You will help to ensure this meeting runs smoothly, from preparation to follow-up:

  • You prepare the Project Board meeting, including the agenda and gathering the presentation materials;
  • You are the point of contact for all communication regarding the Project Board and manage the associated mailbox;
  • You keep track of the discussed actions and decisions, so that everyone stays informed;
  • You contribute to the internal communication of DTCI and CS, such as texts for the CS newsletter, and think along about improvements to them;
  • You help with organizing activities for the DTCI team.

Where will you land?

You will be based at Schiphol-Oost, at KLM Engineering & Maintenance (KLM E&M), the maintenance division of KLM. Together with Air France Industries, KLM E&M is a leading player in the global aircraft maintenance industry. In addition to the KLM and Air France fleets, we maintain aircraft, engines, and components for approximately 200 customers worldwide.

You will work at Component Services, the department responsible for the maintenance and availability of aircraft components. Within the DTCI team, you will be part of a growing, international team with colleagues from various backgrounds and ages. This creates a dynamic environment in which you learn a lot from each other.

Your profile

We are looking for an HBO or WO student (bachelor or master) who is available for a working internship from February 1st. Relevant fields of study include, for example, Business Administration, Business Analytics, Information Management, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, data/ICT-related programs, or a similar study.

You are:

  • Curious and eager to learn, and sees feedback as an opportunity to grow;
  • Analytical, with an interest in data, processes, and finding the root cause behind a problem;
  • Strong communicator: you ask good questions, dare to give your opinion, and write clearly;
  • Organized, with good time management skills;
  • A team player who can also work independently;
  • Interested in logistics and supply chain;
  • Dutch-speaking (required due to communication tasks) and proficient in English;
  • Enrolled at a Dutch educational institution throughout the entire internship period;
  • Available from February 1st, 2027, 4-5 days per week, for at least 6 months.

A plus, not a requirement: experience with Power BI, Excel, SQL, data analysis, or process improvement, and an affinity with Agile, Lean Six Sigma, or continuous improvement. You will learn this from us.

What do we offer?

  • An educational internship with real responsibility in a dynamic organization, in which you can develop significantly personally and professionally;
  • Personal guidance from experienced colleagues, including from the Product Team;
  • Insight into business analysis, data, supply chain, project management, and communication in one internship;
  • A network within KLM, because you will be sitting at the table with many different KLM employees;
  • Access to KLM Taxibaan, the association by and for interns, with events and excursions within KLM;
  • An internship allowance in accordance with the market.

Ready for your next destination?

Then don't wait any longer, and apply for the 'final boarding call' on 04-11-2026! You do not need to write a motivation letter; during your application, we will ask you several targeted questions. You will receive a message from us within two weeks after the closing date of the vacancy.

Did you know that according to research, women are less likely to apply than men if they do not meet all the job requirements? A shame. Because 'the perfect candidate' is, as far as we are concerned, a myth. So, do you have the drive to still grow in some aspects of this role? We look forward to your application.
