In short

Step aboard your next job: employee composites at KLM! You will help with the repair and maintenance of composite aircraft parts. In this way, you contribute—directly or indirectly—to a well-oiled organization and unforgettable flights.

What will you do?

You start your workday by preparing repairs on plastic aircraft and engine parts. Together with colleagues, you assess damage and collect the correct materials and tools. Subsequently, you assist with repairs, applying various techniques and processing parts. In between, you record activities and ensure the workplace remains neat and safe.

Furthermore:

  • you support the analysis of damage and think along about the best repair approach;
  • you collect materials and create aids such as molds to perform repairs properly;
  • you help perform repairs using techniques such as sanding, gluing, and milling;
  • you record performed activities and coordinate progress with colleagues;
  • you actively contribute to a safe working environment and address colleagues regarding unsafe situations.

Where will you land?

You will join the Composite department of Airframe Components in H14, part of Engineering & Maintenance. You will work in a close-knit team of colleagues in a workshop environment, but can also regularly be found in the hangars or on the platform. Together, you ensure that aircraft parts go back into the air in top condition. You will work in a 2-shift service, where collaboration and knowledge sharing are central.

Your profile

You take on tasks actively and seek out colleagues when you want to learn more about something. You switch smoothly between preparing, executing, and completing tasks, while maintaining an overview of your work. You quickly see where help is needed and step in to help the team move forward. You communicate clearly about progress and ask questions if something is not clear. You work carefully and follow safety rules precisely, even when pressure increases.

Furthermore:

  • you have completed the mbo 3 education for composite repair technician or are willing to start following this during your employment;
  • you have some practical experience with processing, machining, or repairing composites;
  • you can read and understand technical work instructions and documentation in Dutch and English;
  • you are available 32 to 40 hours per week and can work in a two-shift service;
  • you use tools and materials according to the work instructions and adhere to the applicable quality and safety rules;

Competencies

  • Working in a team;
  • Attention to quality;
  • Verbal communication;
  • Professionalism;

What do we offer?

  • A gross salary between € 2913,91 and € 3851,03 gross per month;
  • Plenty of room for personal development and great growth opportunities;

  • An excellent pension scheme and 8% holiday allowance;
  • An end-of-year bonus of 8.33%;
  • A profit-sharing scheme, up to 20%;
  • 25 vacation days and 7 extra days off if you work irregular shifts;

Did you know that according to research, women are less likely to apply than men if they do not meet all the job requirements? A shame. Because 'the perfect candidate' is, as far as we are concerned, a myth. So, do you have the drive to still grow in some aspects of this role? We look forward to your application.
