Requirements

What we're looking for

We are looking for someone who is strong in content, but just as importantly: someone who knows how to get people on board.

You have:

  • a completed university degree, for example in business economics or accountancy;

  • at least three years of relevant work experience;

  • knowledge of relevant laws and regulations, or the ability to acquire this knowledge quickly;

In addition:

  • you look critically, but always with an eye for the solution;

  • you are independent and dare to give firm advice;

  • you get energy from setting up and improving new things;

  • you are analytically and numerically strong;

  • you know how to explain complex subjects clearly;

  • you build relationships easily and move smoothly between different levels within an organization;

  • you take ownership and do not wait until someone tells you what needs to be done.

Nice to have

  • preferably experience within healthcare;

  • preferably an additional education or qualification, for example RC, RO, or RE.

Pay & benefits

What you'll get

  • You will immediately receive a permanent employment contract.

  • A fixed year-end bonus of 8.33%.

  • A flexible benefits system for your employment conditions.

  • A gym membership with a significant discount.

  • A bicycle scheme.

  • A discount on one of the collective health insurance plans.

  • At GGZ inGeest, you get plenty of room to continue developing yourself.

The role

As a Risk & Audit Manager, you will deal with internal control, risk management, audits, and compliance. You identify where risks lie, analyze what is happening, and advise on solutions. In doing so, you look not only at rules and figures, but also at how processes work in practice and how people interact with them.

You have an independent advisory role towards the board of directors, executive management, and management. You provide both requested and unsolicited advice and are an important driver within GGZ inGeest in the field of risk and compliance management.

Because this is a new position, you will receive a lot of freedom to determine how best to establish your role. You will develop the frameworks, working methods, and tools that are needed and, together with the organization, ensure that these actually start working.

What you'll do

And there is more: do you want to combine your expertise as a risk and audit professional with business control?
Then this is possible within this position.

A position in which no day is exactly the same. Your responsibilities include:

  • developing and advising on policy regarding risk management, internal control, audits, and compliance;

  • performing an annual organization-wide risk analysis and drafting the internal control plan;

  • performing and coordinating internal audits and process controls;

  • supporting year-end closings and auditor audits;

  • testing processes against relevant laws and regulations;

  • advising on measures to make risks manageable;

  • coordinating the implementation of horizontal supervision;

  • maintaining contacts with accountants, regulators, health insurers, and other internal and external stakeholders;

  • identifying developments and translating them into policy and concrete improvements;

  • paying attention to soft controls: how behavior, culture, and collaboration contribute to good control;

  • advising the board, executive management, and management on both requested and unsolicited advice regarding risks and opportunities for improvement.

You are therefore not someone who monitors from the sidelines. You know what is happening, actively seek connection with colleagues, and help the organization to actually control risks and make processes smarter and stronger.

Also possible: Risk & Audit and Business Control

Do you want to broaden your perspective? Then you can combine this position with a role as a business controller. The expectation is that you will spend approximately 24 hours per week on Risk & Audit. You can use the remaining hours as a business controller.

In that role:

  • you monitor the financial performance of healthcare components and advise executive management and management;

  • you connect financial information with developments in healthcare and the organization;

  • you create analyses, forecasts, budgets, and management reports;

  • you identify financial risks;

  • you advise managers on, among other things, efficiency, staffing, production, capacity, and cost control;

  • you act as a sparring partner for the board, executive management, and management regarding strategic and operational issues.

A great combination, therefore, for a business controller who wants to further develop in risk & audit, or for a risk and audit professional who specifically wants to gain more experience with business control.

What makes this position interesting?

You will be given the space to build. This is a new position. That means you are not stepping into a fully drawn-out box, but together with the organization, you determine how Risk & Audit will be further developed within GGZ inGeest.

You work at the intersection of finance, healthcare, organization, and risk management. As a result, you gain a broad view of our organization and speak to many different people. From colleagues within finance to managers, executive management, and the board.

And perhaps most importantly: your work is not separate from healthcare. By identifying risks in a timely manner, improving processes, and further professionalizing the organization, you contribute indirectly to a solid foundation upon which our care can build.

Where will you work?

You will become part of the Business Control team, within the Finance department. The team consists of five business controllers and a team manager. Most team members are relatively young and work from our location on the Overschiestraat in Amsterdam.

At the same time, you have a special position within the team. You work independently and have a direct advisory role towards the Finance Director and the board of directors.

The Finance department consists of approximately 120 FTEs and includes, among other things, Healthcare Administration & Logistic Support, Financial Administration, Business Intelligence & Data Science, Healthcare Sales, and Business Control.

Additional information

With #Geestverwanten, we show who we really are: people who take care seriously, but who, fortunately, do not always take themselves seriously. Especially now that healthcare is under heavy pressure, we are looking for colleagues who understand that laughing is at least as important as listening.

The recruitment process for this vacancy is carried out by our external recruitment partner ADJ. They guide the process on behalf of GGZ inGeest and are the first point of contact for candidates.
