General Practitioner Clinic for the Elderly Haarlem

We are looking for a general practitioner to strengthen our treatment team at the Ouderen Zuiderpoort clinic in Haarlem from mid-August through November 2026. • The Clinic for the Elderly focuses on elderly people (65+) with acute psychiatric problems for short-term diagnostics and treatment.

• Geriatric psychiatry is addressed in its full breadth: from severe depression to psychotic and manic presentations, often involving multiple somatic illnesses simultaneously and (early-stage) cognitive impairments.

• Consulting with psychiatrists and other practitioners is used to achieve the best result for the client.

• You will work in a multidisciplinary team. Our team is composed of psychiatrists, GZ-psychologists (in training), HAIOs (GP trainees), nurses, and occupational therapists.

• Our excellent Elderly care line has built up national expertise in the field of geriatric psychiatry and has received the TOPGGz quality mark for this.

• The clinic offers diagnostics, individual treatment, and group therapy (SR-IPT, CBT-I), and the psychiatrists participate in the ECT team (indications and treatment).

• There is close cooperation with the geriatrics department of the Spaarnegasthuis, and participation in the memory MDO (multidisciplinary consultation) takes place.

• You will conduct intake interviews, perform medico-psychiatric diagnostics, medication consultations, and supportive contacts.

• You will establish treatment indications and treatment plans in consultation with the client and develop these further.

• You will have your own caseload and work closely with the multidisciplinary team and referrers.

• You will join the multidisciplinary team meetings and treatment plan discussions.

• You will work under the supervision of a psychiatrist and participate as a first responder in the crisis services of GGZ inGeest outside of office hours.
