The role

Your contribution to the construction of a Feadship

In an ultra-modern dock hall and well-equipped workshops, we have space for yachts up to 160 meters, both newbuilds and refits. In a mix of experience and innovation, we build the most beautiful and largest yachts here.

As a Discipline Specialist Yacht Painter, you will be part of the painting department in Amsterdam. You report to the Production Manager. You work closely with Project Leads, Leads Production, Business Improvement, Engineering, Quality Control, and internal operational teams.

You are the technical point of contact within your discipline. You monitor the quality of our own production as well as that of contractors and suppliers. With your expertise, you improve construction processes, products, and standards within the organization. In this way, you make an important contribution to every project.

This is what you will do as a Discipline Specialist

  • Advising on painting work regarding manufacturability, technical functionality, and cost-efficiency.
  • Monitoring working methods, processes, and standards; advising on improvements and new standards.
  • Initiating and developing proposals to increase quality and reduce costs.
  • Thinking along about improvements in the construction process and working in close cooperation with other disciplines.
  • Providing technical support to colleagues within your field.
  • Advising on new materials, products, and production methods based on lessons learned.
  • Providing input during review moments in the BE2, DE, and production phases.
  • Supporting the realization of mock-ups, samples, and test setups.
  • Securing and transferring craft-specific knowledge to Leads Production & Quality Control.

Additionally, you have the following specific authorities:

  • Assessing quality aspects in painting work before and during production.
  • Supporting and advising during Factory Acceptance Tests.
  • Providing advice on Preferred Suppliers.
  • Providing requested and unrequested technical advice based on expertise and standards.

What you bring

  • A completed technical education at MBO+ or HBO level.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience within a technical production environment, preferably in marine interior construction.
  • Strong technical and process-related knowledge within your discipline.
  • Good command of the Dutch and English languages.
  • Experience with relevant software packages and reading/understanding technical drawings and models.
  • Knowledge of materials and their applications.
  • A completed technical education at MBO+ or HBO level.
  • Good command of the Dutch and English languages.
