You will focus on improving the predictability and controllability of work preparation. In doing so, you will deal with, among other things:
Analyzing the current work preparation processes;
Investigating how LEAN methodologies can be applied more effectively;
Evaluating the current daily starts and weeklies;
Gathering needs and bottlenecks from work preparers, project managers, and site managers;
Investigating how progress, actions, and dependencies can be made more transparent;
Developing a dashboard or other form of visual control;
Elaborating a concrete advice or implementation proposal for a predictable work preparation schedule;
Assessing the feasibility and added value of your solution.
Learn more. Do more. More career. That is doing an internship at Dura Vermeer.
During this graduation internship, you will investigate how we can make our work preparation smarter, more efficient, and more predictable using LEAN methodologies, daily starts, weeklies, and visual dashboards. Not theoretical research, but an issue that has a direct impact on our projects and colleagues.
Good work preparation forms the basis of a successful project. Yet, we see that schedules sometimes come under pressure due to changing circumstances, dependencies between disciplines, or insufficient insight into progress. During your graduation internship, you will investigate how we can create more predictability within work preparation. You will look at existing processes, collaboration within project teams, and the use of LEAN principles such as daily starts, weeklies, and visual management. You will investigate what is needed to adjust course in a timely manner, make bottlenecks visible earlier, and monitor progress better. Ultimately, you will translate your findings into concrete advice or a practical solution that is directly applicable within our organization. To do this, you will engage in conversation with work preparers, project leaders, site managers, and other involved colleagues. You will map out the current way of working, analyze opportunities for improvement, and develop an approach with which project teams can gain more control over their work.
You will receive a lot of freedom to shape your research and to further refine the topic together with your supervisor.
You will join Dura Vermeer Bouw Vastgoed Utrecht in an environment where continuous work is done on improvement, collaboration, and predictable project results. Together with experienced colleagues, you will work on an issue that contributes directly to better project control and more efficient work processes. You will receive guidance from professionals who deal with work preparation, project management, and process improvement on a daily basis.
Dura Vermeer is an independent family business. And you can notice that. In how we work together, how we look out for each other, and how we build with an eye for future generations. Since 1855, we have been building the Netherlands, in residential construction, utility construction, infrastructure, and technology. Our independence and long-term vision form the basis for this. With a turnover of € 2.6 billion and over 3,700 colleagues, we belong to the top of the Dutch construction sector. But ultimately, for us, it is not about those figures. It is about people. About colleagues who work together on projects you can be proud of – iconic and close to home – and contribute to solutions for societal issues. Our ambitions are great. And we only achieve them with committed people. That is why we invest in good employer leadership and a working environment in which you feel at home. Where you can be yourself, feel safe, and speak up. So that you get the best out of yourself and make more together with us.
