Functional Administrator

CBS possesses a unique collection of data regarding Dutch society, economy, and community. The Data Service Center ensures that this data remains securely managed and available for research. Do you want to become a functional administrator and gatekeeper of this data hub?

As a functional administrator and gatekeeper, you ensure that our most sensitive data is securely available and remains so for researchers. You are responsible for ensuring that the right users gain and maintain access to the right data.
Your daily management tasks:

• You ensure the optimal functioning of the Data Service Center within the business processes of CBS.

• You manage and maintain the applications within the Data Service Center and classification system.

• You contribute to the further development and improvement of our services and systems.

In addition, you support long-term and project-based development processes, such as a data market.

• I need to save a large file, but it does not fit within the standards; how can I resolve this?

• I want to adjust the metadata of an existing classification: how do I do that?

• How can we use the data and metadata automatically in our production processes?

• What is the best way for us to describe and import our data so that others can also make use of it?

• My script is no longer working! Is there something wrong with the code?

The Data Service Center is the expert and go-to place for the use of many thousands of data sources for statistics. We are professionals in storing, linking, and unlocking data. Our next ambition is working towards a data-centric CBS with shared, central storage of our data and uniform working methods. As a result, our data will be more accessible, both for data users within and outside of CBS, and will also align better with external data ecosystems.

You are part of a small and flexible team of functional administrators and developers.
You work closely with the metadata team. This team supports the creation of data designs and classifications and the safeguarding of metadata quality. In the event of technical problems, you, as a functional administrator, are their point of contact.

You get energy from managing and improving systems that are essential for research and statistics. Thanks to your customer- and service-oriented attitude, you are happy to help users further. In addition, you bring the following:

• HBO or WO working and thinking level in the direction of ICT.

• Several years of experience as a functional administrator.

• Knowledge of relational databases, BiSL and/or ITIL framework, web applications, and programming languages, such as Powershell and Python.

Additionally, you recognize yourself in the following:

• You have a problem-solving mindset and think in terms of possibilities.

• You set priorities independently.

• You work accurately.

Finally, you are available a few times a year for service weekends and/or evening shifts.

For our employment conditions, we follow the CAO Rijk (Central Government Collective Labour Agreement).
This means that, among other things, you can count on the following:

• A salary of at least € 3496,- and at most € 5535,- gross per month based on 36 hours. Depending on your knowledge and experience.

• 8% holiday allowance and a 13th month. In total, this is 16.5% on top of your salary. We call this the Individual Choice Budget (IKB). You decide yourself how, when, and in what way you want to use this budget.

• Pension accrual at the ABP Pension Fund.

• A laptop (Microsoft or Apple) and mobile phone (Android or iOS).

• Two to three days of working from home, the rest you are present in our recently renovated building. You will make further agreements about this within your team.
