Are you that eager-to-learn intern who loves working with business data and helping to publish reliable turnover figures regarding Dutch business life?
Do you get energy from diving into business figures, discovering trends, and checking if everything is correct?
The Business Statistics sector of CBS publishes statistics about Dutch business life. This includes, among other things, turnover developments per industry.
During your internship, you will work on processing the turnover data (microdata) provided by companies. You will examine graphs and trends, identify striking patterns, and investigate whether companies have provided their data correctly. Your analytical insight and accuracy ensure that the figures are reliable before we publish them.
You will help us update job descriptions and procedures.
You will check whether the annual data is being processed correctly in the software for the new year.
You will investigate whether there are new (accounting) regulations for companies and advise on how we can incorporate these into the questionnaires we distribute.
You will be working in a sector with enthusiastic and skilled employees who transform business figures into clear statistics and publications about business life in the Netherlands.
With our figures and publications, we regularly appear on the eight o'clock news, NU.nl and the (digital) newspapers.
We are a sector with many young starters who, just like you, also did an internship not too long ago and with whom you can exchange experiences.
In addition to regular work, there are also always opportunities to play a role in the continuous improvement of the sector as a whole.
You are following an HBO program in the direction of (business) economics, finance, accountancy, or a similar economic study.
You have knowledge of, and preferably also some experience with:
accounting
data analysis
Keywords that describe you: eager to learn, enthusiastic, energetic, accurate, involved, and pleasant to interact with others.
A great learning environment in which you don't just watch, but participate. You will contribute to real statistics and develop skills that you will take with you everywhere:
Professional knowledge at a higher level: you learn to make good business analyses and discover what truly drives an organization
Strong in communication: you are getting increasingly better at thinking along with and advising colleagues.
Independence and collaboration: you learn to work independently, but also how to achieve results within a team.
Sharing knowledge: by sharing your insights with colleagues, you grow faster.
Working methodically: with a clear approach, you maintain an overview and successfully complete projects.
In return for your commitment, you will receive an internship allowance of € 800,- gross per month (based on 40 hours per week).
Together with your internship supervisor, you will coordinate how you can work hybridly, with flexible working hours and the option to work partly from home on your internship assignment.
This concerns an internship assignment and not a work experience placement. Before you begin the internship, we expect you to have an internship supervisor from your educational institution, with whom the internship has been coordinated and concrete learning objectives have been agreed upon.
This internship assignment is intended for students who are currently enrolled at an educational institution; graduates are not eligible.
