The role

Are you an inspirer who knows how to operationalize strategic IT goals and stimulates innovation within your team? Do you want to develop and maintain a secure and modern generic technical IT infrastructure? And do you ensure that daily operations run safely and efficiently?

Then we are looking for you!

Where you make the difference

As Product Manager Data and Web Services, you are responsible for the development and realization of the product roadmap and you guide the processes necessary to realize our products and services in accordance with the applicable frameworks. Together with 13 colleagues, you work on keeping our technical IT services operationally running and developing them further.

An important development is the further expansion of self-service, including through the use of Infrastructure as Code and the exposure of our services via APIs. In this, security, compliance, and efficiency are central. From the design stage, our services comply with the applicable CIS and ISO frameworks, whereby adherence to security and compliance policies is a priority.

You guide a team of 10 to 15 engineers and senior engineers in Agile working and substantive product development. You stimulate a proactive way of working and ensure the connection between strategic objectives and daily execution. In doing so, you work closely with fellow product managers, architects, service managers, management teams, and other stakeholders.

Your main responsibilities are

  • You develop a coherent product strategy and vision for the product suite of the Data and Web Services team and align this with the Head of IGI and other stakeholders. In this, you safeguard not only innovation but also security, compliance, and efficiency.

  • You translate the established product strategy and vision into a multi-year roadmap, quarterly plans, and a product backlog.

  • You organize and guide Agile events, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, retrospectives, and refinements, both within and outside your own team. Additionally, you coach team members.

  • You are the first point of contact for technical teams, architects, Security Services, Contracts & Finance, and service management. You promote collaboration and ensure alignment regarding product goals and strategies.

  • You maintain contact with customers and other product managers, collect feedback, and translate their challenges and needs into further product development.

  • Together with the Head of IGI and other product managers, you develop KPIs and success metrics, for example for adoption, efficiency, costs, and engineer productivity. You make the performance of delivered services transparent and oversee security, compliance, availability, and performance. For this, you utilize existing insights from service management and develop additional insights where necessary.

Your future colleagues

You work in the Data and Web Services team of the Generic Infrastructure (IGI) department. This department consists of approximately 30 experts, divided across our locations in Heerlen and The Hague. The Data and Web Services team consists of approximately 15 colleagues who also work at both locations.

We work according to an Agile methodology in combination with ITIL. We consider an active contribution to this way of working to be important. This includes, among other things, writing high-quality stories and epics, keeping stories up to date on the Azure DevOps board, and active, constructive participation in daily stand-ups, planning, reviews, and retrospectives.

We find collaboration, continuous improvement, and enjoyment in work to be important. This is therefore anchored in our core values.

This is you

You are an enterprising, entrepreneurial, and independent product manager who knows how to combine strategic insight with technical basic knowledge. You understand the technical challenges of our infrastructure services and can communicate about them effectively with both engineers and other stakeholders.

You possess methodical knowledge of Agile and Scrum and know how to stimulate collaboration and continuous improvement within a team. You can think strategically, recognize relevant market trends, and translate these into a product vision. In doing so, you know how to connect different interests and needs.

You have a strong ambition to maximally facilitate the user and customer experience. Continuously improving together is in your DNA. You see opportunities to further develop our services and take the initiative to actually realize improvements.

In addition, you recognize yourself in the following:

  • You are focused on continuously improving together and have an eye for the needs and experiences of users and customers.

Factually well-arranged

For our employment conditions, we follow the CAO Rijk. That means you can count on the following, among other things:

If you do not yet possess all the required knowledge and experience at the start of your position, a choice can be made for temporary placement in a lower salary scale. You will make agreements about this with your supervisor at the start of your position.

  • 8% holiday allowance and a 13th month. In total, this is 16.5% on top of your salary. We call this the Individual Choice Budget (IKB). You decide yourself how, when, and in what way you want to use this budget.

  • Pension accrual at the ABP Pension Fund.

  • A laptop (Microsoft or Apple) and mobile phone (Android or iOS).

  • Two to three days of working from home, the rest you are present in our recently renovated building. You will make further agreements about this within your team.
