Do you want to work as a contract management professional in an organization with great social impact, where your work contributes directly to the health of millions of people? Then we would love to get in touch with you.

Bevolkingsonderzoek Nederland is looking for an immediate IT Contract Manager (32-36 hours) for its central procurement & contract management (I&CM) department. Without working IT, there are no invitations, no results, and no screening for 4.5 million people per year. As IT Contract Manager, you ensure that our suppliers deliver what we need, within a contract portfolio of over € 100 million. You manage contracts, suppliers, and our own organization, ensuring that we continue to receive what is required.

What you'll do

The procurement & contract management (I&CM) department is responsible for supporting the contract owners in the field by procuring and managing their most important contracts. This includes contracts for the maintenance of the mobile units for breast cancer screening, the laboratories, the IT infrastructure for managing the invitation process, as well as hardware and various software applications. The total value of these contracts exceeds € 100 million per year.

A large part of the entire screening process is outsourced to our chain partners, and you will make an important contribution through your role. As IT Contract Manager, together with the senior contract manager, you will focus primarily on the most important contracts of the IT, information security & privacy, and information management departments (together IV, information provision). Your focus lies mainly on the IT contracts. After you have the basics in order, you may also be asked to manage other important contracts of the organization.

Procurement with a business focus ensures that we obtain the right IT goods and services; adequate contract management ensures that we continue to receive what we need throughout the contract period.

You will join a team of twelve colleagues occupying roles such as buyer, contract manager, contract administrator, procurement lawyer, and department manager. Our organization and department are in full development, in which we work closely together. The recent merger means we are a learning organization; therefore, continuous improvement is an important value for us. We dedicate time to this in a structured manner and thus make great strides together. All in all, we are building together!

Good to know: Hybrid working is possible for this position! You work from home or Utrecht.

You monitor the performance of our IT suppliers, for example for the invitation system, hardware, and software. You conduct supplier meetings, adjust based on KPIs and risks, and advise IV managers on extensions, renegotiations, or new tenders.

  • Contract management: Together with the other contract manager and IT colleagues, you manage the important IT contracts and ensure that we continue to receive what we need; to this end:

o you monitor and analyze the market,

o you continuously coordinate with the senior contract manager, IV managers, internal stakeholders, and suppliers, o you together come up with improvement proposals and implement them, o you adjust contracts where necessary o you report on the results of suppliers (KPIs, risks and control measures, legality, etc.) and o you provide proactive and reactive advice

  • Procurement: You also contribute your knowledge during tenders for new contracts:

o you participate in procurement projects for an optimal (and manageable) result.

  • Department: You contribute to:

o the development of the (procurement and) contract management procedures, processes, and systems;

o the general knowledge level of our organization.

Hybrid working is possible for this position! You work from home or Utrecht.

Who are you

For this position, we see two types of profiles that may be suitable:
