The role
Do you want to build a national IT Servicedesk where people, collaboration, and service grow together? We are looking for an IT Servicedesk Team Manager.
Our core values engaged, reliable, and accessible are reflected in our internal organization and our relationship with the outside world. They provide us with direction to constantly improve our work and our organization. #Togetherformillions!
What you'll do
You are stepping in at a moment when the course towards a single national Servicedesk has been set, but not everything is yet finalized. This gives you the space, together with the team, to further shape the way of working and make a visible difference in service delivery.
You will lead a team of 7 IT servicedesk employees working from various locations across the country, namely: Utrecht, Rotterdam, Eindhoven, and Deventer (as of 1-4-2027 Zwolle instead of Deventer). You bring people together, give them direction both as individuals and as a team, and build a team in which collaboration, knowledge sharing, and ownership are a matter of course. At the same time, you ensure professional and reliable service for our colleagues. In this position, you report to the IT Manager.
What will you do?
You provide operational and tactical leadership to the IT Servicedesk and continuously monitor the quality, accessibility, capacity, and continuity of daily service delivery;
You guide the team in its development towards a national skilled Servicedesk and create focus, set clear priorities, and ensure collective ownership;
You are responsible for the development of both the team and individual employees. You coach employees, stimulate knowledge sharing, and contribute to an open working environment in which giving and receiving feedback is a matter of course;
You bring structure and consistency to processes, work agreements, and service delivery, and actively seek collaboration with other (IT) teams;
You translate the vision for the IT Servicedesk into concrete goals and improvement actions and, together with the team, ensure their execution and safeguarding;
You actively seek connection with service teams and other departments within Bevolkingsonderzoek Nederland.
Good to know
Hybrid working is possible for this position (50%)! You can work from home as well as from our head office located in Utrecht.
We are a learning organization! We are constantly in motion (it can always be better!), we embrace innovation and change, and that is something that suits you well.
Who are you
For this position, we are primarily looking for a connecting, (visible at all locations) team manager who knows how to connect people and development. You are accessible and interested in what motivates employees, while at the same time daring to express expectations and holding people accountable for their responsibilities. You coach and direct employees in their professional and personal development.
You have a higher professional education (HBO) degree and several years of experience as a manager of an (IT) Servicedesk or similar team.
You are familiar with ITIL processes and preferably have an ITIL certification or demonstrable knowledge and experience with ITIL processes.
You are a coaching leader who provides direction to his or her team, challenges them, and enables collaboration.
You have experience with (team) development and know how to bring employees along in change without losing sight of daily service delivery.
You make operational decisions independently and take responsibility for the results.
You are customer-oriented and proactive: helping colleagues effectively gives you energy.
What we offer you
Meaningful work! A challenging position where you contribute to the detection of cancer in a learning organization;
An employment contract for 32 – 36 hours per week (4x9 hours is a possibility);
A salary in accordance with CAO Ziekenhuizen FWG 55 (maximum € 5,503 gross) based on 36 hours per week;
The salary is exclusive 8.33% holiday allowance, 8.33% end-of-year bonus, and travel expenses allowance;
The possibility to work nationally from our offices and from home (hybrid).
