What we're looking for

You have an HBO (higher professional education) work and thinking level, (supplemented) with relevant education in Civil Engineering or related fields;
You have at least 7 years of relevant work experience in preparing and/or executing complex non-residential projects;
You have a strong affinity with design and structures;
You possess good knowledge of the relevant standards, guidelines, laws, and regulations in the field of construction technology;
You have knowledge of and affinity with various design methods and tools, such as BIM, AutoCAD, Revit, and Systems Engineering;
Experience with drawing up feasibility studies and knowledge of structural mechanics is a plus;
You want to be the expert in your field, which is why you continue to expand your knowledge in the areas of technology and innovation in construction. In this way, you help BESIX remain at the top of the Dutch construction world.

The role

As a Construction Methodology Expert, you are an essential link in the procurement process of our projects. You are a permanent player in our Price & Method department.

The Construction Methodology Expert analyzes the design and the client's requirements and devises the best technical and logistical solutions to realize the project.

The Construction Methodology Expert connects design with construction costs and acts as the linchpin in this process.

As an expert, you are able to realize the project in your mind beforehand. In doing so, you work intensively with your colleagues from our engineering office and the cost experts. Together you devise

the winning design and the best price/quality ratio. The ability to quickly funnel a conceptual plan into a definitive plan is a must.

The Construction Methodology Expert reports to the Price & Methods Manager department and to the Procurement Manager for all matters in the bidding phase.

What you'll do

Drawing up plans regarding the best working method that aligns with the chosen design, taking into account the safety, quality, planning, and costs of the project;
Devising optimization proposals, efficiency-increasing measures, failure cost reduction, and alternatives in the field of materialization;
Searching for any alternative construction concepts and methods;
Determining the necessary temporary facilities, such as scaffolding, formwork, and auxiliary structures;
Determining a vision on logistics, associated equipment deployment, routing, and storage;
Delivering a technical and logistical plan including the processing of all relevant information that serves as a suitable foundation for the pricing colleagues;
Ensuring good coordination of your plans with internal and external stakeholders, such as the design leader, the cost expert, the tender manager, and the supply market;
You work continuously on improving our safety and have a particular interest in sustainability and our living environment;
You play a role in further professionalizing the Price and Methods department and in the continuous development of the BESIX "way of working" during the pricing processes.

You are analytically strong and communicatively skilled. You know how to fathom the technical and contractual context and translate this into the best technical and logistical plan to arrive at the winning bid. You recognize the right risks but also have a strong eye for opportunities within a tender. If necessary, you are able to draw up a technical plan for a project based on limited information. Working in a construction team and/or a development team is familiar territory for you. You have a flexible attitude and can deal well with the changes and uncertainties in a tender process. You are proactive, a team player, and a go-getter; you remain accurate even under high pressure, radiate calm to your surroundings, and are intrinsically motivated to initiate improvement processes in your field together with your colleagues.
