The Netherlands is in the midst of a structural change to the energy system. Grid congestion, permitting processes, lack of space, and conflicting interests are putting the energy transition under high pressure. In this context, what is needed is not yet another report, but leadership that organizes movement.

As Senior Managing Consultant Energy Transition - our 'Public Fixer' - you are the one who gets stalled dossiers moving again. You operate at the intersection of strategy, governance, and execution. Not as a classic advisor from a distance, but in the middle of the playing field where decisions must be made under pressure.

The Public Fixer's approach in short.

As a Public Fixer, you work on exceptional assignments: tough and urgent energy transition issues that are under high political and social pressure, where classic reflexes such as an extra study, a new committee, or more capacity have insufficient effect.

You are deployed on dossiers where direction and solutions are not yet established, interests clash, and decision-making is under pressure. In that context, you quickly bring sharpness, connect technical, administrative, and social perspectives, and translate analysis directly into concrete steps. Together with clients with a mandate, you organize visible progress in short, intensive sprints, break through blockages, and build coalitions that make decisions possible and realize them.

Through our experiences with, among others, the nitrogen approach in South Holland, the support of Remkes (What is possible), the Agricultural Agreement, the Insulation Approach 'Nij Begun' in Groningen and North Drenthe, and the administrative steering group for the semicon cluster Arnhem-Nijmegen, we have developed a targeted method to truly force breakthroughs. We continue to sharpen and enrich that approach in practice; and together with you, we would love to make it even better.

As Senior Managing Consultant Energy Transition, you take charge in politically and socially sensitive processes. You work at the executive level and are a trusted strategic sparring partner for administrators, DGs, and boards - often even before a question has been formally asked. Your success is not measured in reports, but in realized breakthroughs.

You:

• Builds and strengthens a strategic client portfolio at the executive level within the energy and living environment domain.

• Activates and utilizes your network to identify new breakthrough challenges early and develops propositions and multi-year collaborations around complex systemic issues.

• Leads urgent and politically sensitive processes in the energy transition and living environment, where decision-making takes place under high pressure.

• Makes bottlenecks in policy, legal frameworks, and processes clearly insightful and translates these directly into concrete interventions.

• Organizes negotiations, builds coalitions, and accelerates decision-making in dossiers where interests clash.

• Builds trust between parties, makes resistance discussable, and escalates where necessary to safeguard progress.

• Manages large multidisciplinary teams and develops advisors into professionals who can lead complex challenges themselves.

You will become part of our Energy and Sustainability Transition Team, an experienced and growing group of about 15 passionate advisors. • A relevant and deployable high-level network within (semi-)government and the business community.

• Demonstrable experience as a trusted advisor to administrators, DGs, board members, or CEOs in politically sensitive dossiers.

• A proven reputation as a bridge builder and director in major societal dossiers.

• Thorough knowledge of the Dutch energy system, the spatial domain, infrastructure and/or relevant laws and regulations.

• Experience with complex negotiation processes and administrative decision-making.

• Political-administrative sensitivity and the ability to operate effectively in crisis settings.

• At least 15 years of relevant work experience and an academic level of work and thought.

• Experience within consultancy is a plus.
