The role
Are you ready for a challenging internship in surveying?
Would you like to contribute to large and complex construction and infrastructure projects? Do you enjoy working both in the field and behind a computer, and do you enjoy working accurately? Then this is the challenge for you!
During this internship, you will shadow a professional surveyor who will teach you everything from top to bottom. You will be involved in both the preparation and the execution, contributing to both large and small projects. You will help during the construction of roads, bridges, tunnels, and much more! You will perform surveying yourself; this way, you help with the setting-out for construction and the measurement of terrains. In doing so, you will work with the most modern measuring equipment (we even have a robot and a professional drone!) and you will do this together with a very fun team in the field, where you learn everything at your own pace!
But there is not only practical work. There is also plenty to do behind the computer! You will help the office staff with preparing data from working drawings and processing measurements of completed work. So you will be busy both indoors and outdoors!
Specially for you, we asked a setting-out colleague what a typical day looks like:
"Because our projects are all over the Netherlands (and very occasionally abroad), there is usually some travel involved before we can start working. Once at work, we start with a cup of coffee (or tea) and discuss the tasks for that day. Perhaps data needs to be prepared on the computer (every setting-out technician has a laptop with CAD programs) and after that, we go outside. Regularly, data must go from indoors to outdoors and vice versa. So it is a combination of being outside and inside."
We work on the most beautiful construction projects in the Netherlands, so there is always something to discover. Safely, of course!
