As a Construction Law Corporate Lawyer, you will be involved in the legal guidance of our residential and commercial construction projects, specifically for the business units Ballast Nedam West (Capelle aan den IJssel) and Heddes Bouw & Ontwikkeling (Hoorn). Together with your colleague Patricia, you will be involved in the entire construction process: from the tender phase through to the aftercare following completion.

A selection of your duties:

• In the tender phase, you assess contracts, test them against our policies, identify risks, and advise on how these are to be incorporated into the bid.

• You advise the procurement organization, draft project contracts, and review contracts. Additionally, you assist in the formation of agreements and cooperation agreements through combination building.

• During the execution of projects, you are a proactive sparring partner. You analyze legal issues, propose pragmatic solutions, and always keep an eye on the progress of the project.

• Even after completion, you remain involved and provide legal aftercare, advising project teams when legal issues arise.

Additionally, you will be part of the Ballast Nedam Construction Legal team, consisting of eight lawyers. Within this team, you will find experienced sparring partners and share knowledge and expertise. Occasionally, it may occur that you also support other business units with legal advice. This position can be configured for 32 to 40 hours per week, with a distribution of approximately 70% at Ballast Nedam West and 30% at Heddes Bouw & Ontwikkeling.

• You have a completed degree in Civil Construction Law, supplemented by 5 to 7 years of experience as a Corporate Lawyer within a construction company, or as an attorney with experience advising construction companies;

• You have knowledge of and experience with contract forms such as UAV, UAV GC, and DNR, as well as SWK/GWK;

• You are a good sparring partner for our business and fellow lawyers. Additionally, you are pragmatic and problem-solving, possess strong analytical skills, and have some commercial insight;

• You speak and/or write fluent Dutch and English; knowledge of other foreign languages is a welcome addition to our international experience.
