What we're looking for
We are looking for someone who recognizes themselves in the following profile:
(Nearly) graduated in Dutch law (WO) with above-average academic results;
Demonstrable interest in corporate law and specifically the M&A practice;
Enterprising, eager to learn, and able to empathize well with clients;
Careful and structured, even under time pressure;
Excellent command of the Dutch and English languages, both spoken and written.
The role
Do you want to start your career at the top of the M&A practice and work directly on high-profile (international) transactions?
AKD is a full-service firm with over 600 lawyers, tax specialists, and notaries in the Netherlands, Belgium, and Luxembourg. For our clients, we are the gateway to and from the Benelux. AKD's years of high rankings in the M&A League Tables and recognition by various guides demonstrate the strong position of our M&A team in the market. Due to the strong growth of the (international) M&A practice within our firm, we have space for a trainee lawyer.
What will you do?
What you'll do
As a Corporate M&A trainee lawyer, you will work directly on engaging (cross-border) transactions. In this role, you will be asked, among other things, to perform analyses, prepare negotiations, and draft transaction documentation. We advise on private equity deals, public M&A, and other matters regarding listed companies, strategic transactions, controlled auctions, and growth capital investments. You will collaborate extensively with others, both inside and outside the firm, such as with other advisors and (co-)counsel from renowned foreign firms.
Why choose AKD?
A strong foundation for your career: in addition to professional training, you will follow the internal junior training via our training academy, AKDMY. You will also complete a 4 to 6-week internship at a legal aid firm.
Closely involved in large transactions: you will work directly on complex, often international transactions. This ensures a steep learning curve and a lot of responsibility.
Guidance from experts: you will receive direct guidance from two experienced partners known for their pragmatic approach and personal involvement.
