Technical Manager Water Safety

Due to the growth of our BU Transport & Infrastructure, WSP wants to further strengthen the expertise within the Water Safety team. We are therefore looking for a Technical Manager for our locations in Nieuwegein, Breda or Rotterdam.

• Leading the technical team and actively participating in the IPM team.

• Developing, elaborating, and assessing integrated and future-proof water safety solutions.

• Structuring and controlling design processes and technical decision-making.

• Ensuring the safeguarding of quality, technical standards, and applicable laws and regulations.

• Coordinating with clients, competent authorities, and other relevant stakeholders.

• Monitoring project planning, budget, progress, and contractual agreements.

• Actively coaching and guiding junior and medior colleagues and contributing to knowledge development within the team.

• Contributing to the further growth and positioning of the Water Safety department, both nationally and internationally.

As Technical Manager Water Safety, you are responsible from start to finish for complex and integrated water safety projects. You will work on, among other things, dike reinforcement projects such as Moerdijk-Drimmelen and Sterke Lekdijk, river widening projects such as Ruimte voor de Rivier 2.0 and the Zuidelijk Maasdal, and on the design of retention areas within regional water systems, for example Water in Balans.

You switch effortlessly between content, process, and collaboration and fulfill a pivotal role within the project team. You hold ultimate responsibility for the organization and management of the technical team and for the quality and coherence of the technical output.

You have extensive experience in a project-oriented environment and feel at home in a role in which you are both a leader and a connector.
